Hot take: We absolutely win this game if we leave Shibasaki on the left wing instead of Oates. Oates was clearly concussed, had zero involvement and arguably bombed 4 tries. Terrible decision to bring him back on, he was out cold after the elbow from Roberts.
Haha I sort of buy this. But Oates certainly has those nights where his finishing just isn’t there. And he had a few good carries up the middle where he definitely didn’t look concussed

One frustrating aspect of tonight's game was our kicking options.

Boyd not putting a kick on the 5th in an attempt for another set.

Thought Staggs could have done the same on that last play, but really our depth in attacking plays should be deeper.

There was another time but it escapes me right now.

Pretty hard to put a game plan into action without a spine.
No it isn't , and yes we do have a spine. They're still professional football players, you can't tell me we don't have a 1,7,6&9 ?
Now give them a fucking game plan !! They just need some direction. No spine my arse

If we somehow make it to the Semi Final, keep the side as is and put TPJ at 6 Boyd is useless.

Haas needs to find a offload with TPJ out.... he looks but his conservative side take over

Milford hiding behind the play and running off SoS hip is what I’m craving. Or he can go wider to Fifita. The possibilities are endless but so frustrating with the broncos

This has seemingly the opposite effect on me than most.
Now more than ever do I want us to stick with Siebs and get through an off season with cohesion to show WB and us as fans that we have what it takes. I'm not saying it's what will happen for certain, but I think it's worth the shot, and the pay-off would be monumental.

It's easy as fans to get angry with lack of results and defensive/attacking structures and blame the coach, and yes it's warranted, but let's not act like we're the warriors here. We can rally around our coach for at least two seasons to start to judge where we are.
A team of 17 individuals playing under one coach for years will take more than 6 or 7 months to adhere to a completely different environment, especially with the average IQ of your regular NRL player. A coach can say the same things day in and day out, but it's down to the team to play for eachother and while I definitely don't agree with positions and certain players even in the 17, it is what it is.

I don't see many other coaches realistically making the changes we all want to happen with our halves and certain spots, at least for the last few rounds heading into the finals causing even more change.

So yes, while we can and I know I certainly will complain about our selections, efforts, team sheets and general all round attitude, let's do the hard part and have the belief that it can be turned around.

Rant over.
Just to be clear, I don't want Seibold gone and he definitely gets at least next year before I'd have any opinion on whether he should stay or go.

But I'm a fan of this club and I'll absolutely criticise the coach, every week even if I think he's holding back the club through either ignorance, stupidity, or stubbornness.

Ultimately every person in the NRL can see Boyd is no longer a first grader but only Seibold can move him out of our spine at the very least. That would be a huge improvement.

Macca just barely floats above reserve grade level but he's still getting selected with huge minutes every week.

He said lots of fluffy feel good crap when he signed up, bringing modern football, improving ruck control, effective attacking structures, lots of fluffy feel good stuff, he's not delivering, so I'll give him crap the same way I give it to Milford, who I don't want to lose either but he sure as shit can do better, like the coach.

I do think we'll be a better team next year but only if Boyd and Macca aren't still first choice spine players, or else, I think we'll regress even further.

And what was up with segeyaro. He didn’t run it once. That’s what his game is and why we need him in the team but he only passed it. This was a game he should have went toe to toe with cook. Seemed like coaching taking over there.

Imho he should have been put on the field for every second of the sin binning(s). Seibold looks like he makes his plans well in advance and never deviates from them no matter what happens on the field. Considering he hardly played much first grade himself that would seem to make sense, as first grade is mostly theory to him.

It's not even a question about whether he was concussed imo, I hope the NRL hit us with a large fine for allowing him back on.

Go and watch the slow motion replay they showed again if you get the opportunity, the second he got hit by the elbow the lights were on but nobody was home, when he tried to pull himself up his arms were jelly and he face planted, it's actually absurd the doctor let him play on.

He was good last year. New systems, instability in his halves partners and a seeming complete lack of a game plan has stunted his growth enormously this year.
I didn't think he was that good last year. I'd say he was adequate. I know your response will be "but he won our player of the year" but I've responded to this before.

I’m not saying he’s been better at 1. I’m saying it’s been better for the team, and he’s been better than Boyd at 1. Isaako wasn’t even playing when the shift was made, so that wasn’t even an opinion at the time.

He’s playing some hybrid mix of the two positions and as someone eloquently put it in the game thread it looks like shit.

He wasn’t highlight reel good but he was controlling the games and winning them with his boot.

Milf has been our best, or equal best player for years. His game is screwed however because of shitty selections of Boyd either at FB or 5/8 and that dinosaur Macca at 9. His game has been crippled for years with a shitty spine.

What's sad is Seibold using Milf to patch holes in the play making when the solution is simple. Drop fucking Boyd and Macca.

For mine, Milf would do best at 6 with SOS at 7 and Isaako (gulp) at FB. I also wonder how staggs would go at FB? I understand he has played FB before.

Experience vs talent, experience wins but can’t blame the young guys they tried hard they will learn though it is frustrating as a fan.

I really think milf plays better in the halves with structure
Gillett has had a big layoff but I think he had a solid night
Boyd please fall on the sword it hurts too much
Anyone told Segeyaro he’s good at running?
Oates is out of form but it doesn’t help he is getting rubbish ball
Roberts should have been sent
Jayden ‘hitman’ sua should us we ain’t missing anything especially with that miss on Fifita (10 year deal ASAP)

If we had halves, and a fullback and a hooker we would have won that match. It was there on a plate for us. So fucking frustrating!!!

We also would have won another premiership by now.

Absolutely. Seggy has lost the most effective part of his game - his running game. I don't get it
