I find the timing of this most peculiar.....Boyd decides to remove himself from a (so called) leadership group, right at the moment Piebold is away on a family emergency...

Didnt he have the guts to say this to the mans face....needs him away for a fortnight to do it..

Incidentally, right at the moment a "leadership group" should, you know, actually SHOW leadership with their coach away...

To me, that is not Leadership....

To be fair to Boyd I think this happened before the Souffs game

Perhaps they had a big blow up or something after the game that’s lead to Pies leaving and Boyd removing himself? Boyd looked to be one of the more vocal players on Friday night.

who really knows with this club...seriously....

Maybe right now we simply cant attract a decent coach knowing the real makeup of the playing group....

Yeah I disagree but that’s ok. He hasn’t been playing like a world beater but he hasn’t disgraced himself despite people on here desperate for that to be the case.
Sometimes you have to freeze frame to find him. Don't look in the missed tackle stats: he's nowhere near the action.

I also find his appointment to the board strange. I understand people can have multiple skillsets but how do these footy players end up in management roles? It looks like cronyism to me. Does Australia have any laws about fair employment?

Maybe it’s what he wanted to do in his post playing career? Strange I know but he wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t what he wanted to do...

I'd like to see that as well because it would show Haas and Offa ? standing on the line cheering Turps on .
It was pretty bad, but in fairness, he was second to Haas in the overall tackle tally, and played 15 minutes less. Defence is the last thing I'd be bagging Turpin about:

Here, enjoy another classic Darius at fullback moment:

Again please gif Turpin shitting the bed and allowing a big average bench prop just brush him like a flea

Yeah I wasn't knocking Turps so much as the other numpties who didn't move up with him. Turps isnt the be all end all but if the others had his effort level we wouldn't be where we are.

It was the only tackle Turps missed in the entire game. He made 49 successful ones. He's not there as last line of defence. That would be Darius.

It’s almost like taking an isolated moment from a game isn’t an indication of how someone played as a whole

Except that was a classic Darius moment. You don't always get to see them because he's usually off camera avoiding the ball carrier.

I have been laughing at Darius' performances at fullback for you blokes for a while but I feel this one is a bit unfair. It was clearly a set play for the winger to go over in the corner so he was sliding across in cover defence and on a wet track turning around for a kick back on the inside (that realistically should've been stopped by one of the four players in front of the kicker) was never going to come off regardless of whether he slipped or pulled off the turn of the century.

Not one of those guys wanted to be there😔 this and a few similar moments this season make this team the worst in our proud club’s history... Coach keeps talking about effort... there was 0 efforts on this occasion. Fucking horrible.
