NEWS Darius Boyd can't deal with Seibold

I have been laughing at Darius' performances at fullback for you blokes for a while but I feel this one is a bit unfair. It was clearly a set play for the winger to go over in the corner so he was sliding across in cover defence and on a wet track turning around for a kick back on the inside (that realistically should've been stopped by one of the four players in front of the kicker) was never going to come off regardless of whether he slipped or pulled off the turn of the century.
It's still a classic Darius moment where he winds up on his arse with his back facing a try being scored. Collect the whole set and win a prize.

It was pretty bad, but in fairness, he was second to Haas in the overall tackle tally, and played 15 minutes less. Defence is the last thing I'd be bagging Turpin about:

Jesus... I can see why Turps is copping some flack, but what the **** was everyone else doing. They got 2m off their line to a numpty prop on a settler.

They should've exploded off the line and belted him... or did they want Cook to have a ptb off the 1m line next up anyway.

This team is so fucking confused on the field that they can't even see moments in the game to set a standard and put a line in the sand... they were happy to just sit back and let souths come at them all game.

It's pretty indicative of what we've dished up every time we've travelled this year (excluding the cowboys game pre-covid) ... 2020 can just **** off.

Not one of those guys wanted to be there😔 this and a few similar moments this season make this team the worst in our proud club’s history... Coach keeps talking about effort... there was 0 efforts on this occasion. Fucking horrible.

This is what annoys me. It isn’t a once off either. And the more you praise the effort, the more this thick as bricks players will believe the effort they are putting in is enough, it isn’t! So call them out on it.

Nice to see our champion for mental health pile on more pressure to a guy under ridiculous pressure instead of keeping his comments to himself.
How true. If any one knows about the horrors of mental health it's Darbs. So to air our dirty laundry in public was well and truly calculated for maximum effect. Such a low act deserving of a sit down and a severe reprimand from any club worth their salt.

What dirty laundry did he air?

The fact Pies was not listening to his input and so he was stepping down from the leadership group. This sort of disharmony should never be allowed to reach public ears. All he had to do was step down and shut up about it. Instead he had to make a point of blurbing it to the media.

Yeah I disagree but that’s ok. He hasn’t been playing like a world beater but he hasn’t disgraced himself despite people on here desperate for that to be the case.

He’s just a champion of his own mental health.

Maybe I'm not up to speed here but I haven't seen anything from Darius about quitting the leadership grouo quoted in the media?

I'm not a big fan of playing the "mental health" card as an excuse. Getting inside your opponent's head, and "mentally disintegrating them" (as Steve Waugh called it) is key to professional sport. If you're too soft to handle the pressure, you don't get to play. And you certainly don't get to be captain or coach. Full stop. Playing and coaching at this level are extreme pressure jobs, and they're paid very handsomely for it.

As my coach used to say: strike first, strike hard, no mercy!

I know it’s fun to hate Boyd but what the hell is he supposed to do. The bloke has played hundreds of NRL games, won grand finals, state of origins, represented Australia and this dumb **** of a coach doesn’t want to listen to him? Why would he continue? He has been shit on for years and a lot of it is granted but this one is not. This specific coach should be listening to Boyd and any other player who has any idea whatsoever because he doesn’t have a clue.

Boyd could be saying “we should try this sweep play” or “maybe I shouldn’t defend in the front line” which are obvious fucking things and you’re all shitting on him. Why have a leadership group if you’re not going to listen to them? More disgraceful bullshit from this know it all coach who seems to know nothing

Having depression doesn't mean you're soft mate.

Kind of does a bit in this context. As unfair as that sounds. These guys need to be at the top of their game.

That was a shit miss from Turpin but he is the only one who had the right idea. 2 guys just stayed back, they should have moved up with Turpin. This is why defending on your own goalline should be the easiest, don't give them room like this!

He didn't (that I know of) it's once again the club leaking what should be private information which is once again disrespectful to Boyd. The club was immensely disrespectful to him last season with the whole captaincy saga, they should have just changed captain's without the fuss.

For a while I started to dislike Boyd but the more fraudbold and the board is exposed the more I think it's the rotten admin that's causing all the issues.

So it was the club that 'leaked' this to the media. If that was the case I take it back about Darbs and suggest the CEO leaves no stone unturned to find who is leaking confidential information to the media.

9/10 Turpin puts his body in front of that, He just misjudged it and everyone else was jelly dicking back on the line.

Can't they just tell Seibold and Boyd to both **** off and never come back.
