What peeves me off most about this team isn't the losses but some of the efforts of players who are old enough to do what is required but just don't have the application.
I seriously would have hooked Oates halfway through that first half. From his inept catching to his abandoning of the wing twice (once saved by an errant pass) he was presenting everything that is wrong with this team.
Another example was offa's arm grabbing that left a hole bigger than milford's stomach and allow them to score.
The players should not be allowed to be picked two weeks in a row after those kinds of efforts and Oates performance was exactly that.
We have a ready substitute in Kennar and there is no way Oates has justified being selected ahead of him, but our coaches or what ever passes for that title seem to be as haphazard as the players in accepting mediocrity.
It's one thing to be blown away by a red hot roosters or penrith but parra were no where near it.
To be fair, some players were good in admittedly not the worst performance (we have plenty of diabolical ones to choose from) but until we have some accountability there is no way this club goes anywhere.
As for those better players, I thought both staggs and dearden tried hard to ignite a very look warm attack, and fiffita played like he cared a bit more but I'm struggling.
Certainly our kicking wasn't great but it would be harsh to expect a rookie half dealing with a make shift halves partner, and forwards who regularly dial in their games to do better when it isn't his strong suite.
Between now and next seasons start we need to be working on fitness, defensive line speed, and getting our forwards to time their carries something closer to the advantage line.
The other two are obvious, but the way our forwards meet their hit ups it isn't hard to see how we lose our ruck. The amount of times I be seen them try and make yards from standing starts, or have to hooker or half go looking for them to pass it sometimes directly behind the ruck almost should have them hanging their heads in shame.
But after all that the worst thing is attitude. Hopoate is a mediocre player, but one he doesn't lack is effort. He has terrible tackling and virtually no attacking skills with the ball but at least he keeps showing up on his watch. I'd frankly pick him for that reason alone. It's what we need most and if selecting an awful journeyman ahead of some overpaid, under performing potential talent sparks redress of our deficiencies in attitude in effort I'd happily wear the losses.
More than losing, I want those "don't care" performances gone.
You had 1 player taken from the field , out for the night tackle 1. And your move is to hook a winger!

somebody get this guy a gig as Seibold’s assistant ASAP

Well, we are shit but at least we don't pretend not to be. Eels will get flogged by any of the top teams. They are up themselves poster boy pretenders.

Good chat. Nothing related to what I posted but good all the same Peanut

God almighty, unless by some miracle we are able to snare a couple of gun spine players asap, you just wonder where the improvement is gonna come from over the next couple of years at least. We are truly deplorable. That **** Paul White still has the cheek to even show his face around the joint. On his watch, he's basically taken his paycheque and left the place in a fucking shambles.

I hope this new coach brings a magic wand with them.

Try 1 - oates rushes in off wing - no reason to, inside defenders have ball carrier well covered. If he stays out, can go 1:1 with Fergo or assist with centre if it goes to him.
Try 2 - offa pitiful effort in defence.
Try 3 - horrid bounce, kenner knocks out katoni's legs and its all over from there.
Try 4 - herbie not sliding.
Try 5 - the grub throws a strange lofty slow pass to literally no-one.

It’s a big responsibility. Butt of all jokes etc.
The pain goes away after 2 or 3 .

talk to me in 2023 if you are still suffering
I dare say I'll be looking you up the way things are going.

You stop counting after a while. 😂🤣😂

otherwise you cry a lot in the middle of the night.
At least you had Toowoomba born and bred legend, Peter Sterling to run you around the park - and play for NSW even though he shouldn't have.

There is a statue in Wagga Wagga. Haven’t seen any in TBar. Case closed.

Your trolling aside (typical of a certain type of parra fan, exuberant in the short term success, awaiting their inevitable decline once more to mediocrity) yes I would!
If you bothered to pay any attention to siebolds coaching as most on here have (they love their football and value it more than just a short term excuse for an antisocial diatribe of inane sarcasm and mindless monotonous sarcasm) you would have noticed this is precisely the thing that has led to our predicament (one parra fans would know quite well from seasons past), namely allowing matches to meander without the address of either performance or attitude. This acceptance of mediocrity is something new to broncos fans, and we don't have your years of experience in it to blunt our distaste.
As for the early injury, we lost a rookie 5/8th. That doesn't stop a player with 5years of Nrl experience as a first grader from catching the ball or marking up. To be fair farnsworths defence was ordinary on the line but Oates was caught in no man's land, so yes I'd hook him. We have a ready replacement and Oates can double up as a forward replacement if need be.
This team doesn't lack talent. What it lacks is experience, direction and application. Poor coaching and an ordinary player management mean two of those can't be solved over night but the last one can with some strong action.
