For me, the issue here is hypocrisy. NSW booed Wally, it's no different.
But the actual act of booing a player just because he is the opposition Captain, really is nothing more than really bad sportsmanship and honestly shithouse behaviour.
Yes, boo the hell out of Gallen when he played, but not because he is the NSW captain, but because he is a world class grub.
But Cleary? He plays the game fairly and doesn't deserve to be booed just because the colour of his shirt.
So deliberately holding down Munster so he couldn’t get a quick play the ball into an open backfield is playing the game fairly. He’s every bit as grubby as the rest of them. His shoulder charge in game 1 went unchallenged or mentioned either as he is the blue eyed boy of the NSWRL.

You’re right, he’s really out of touch...

taking the worst side (on paper) in qld history on 4 weeks notice and absolutely dismantling a far better (on paper) side clearly shows he had no idea what he’s doing and we were right to punt him for seibold.
By that same token, after the 1995 series win Vautin was obviously the coaching GOAT?

Meanwhile, Bellamy with zero series wins, is an absolute spud of a coach?

What Bennett (don’t forget the roles Meninga and Henry played too though) achieved with this Maroons team is a fantastic achievement, truly one for the annals. But as with Vautin and Bellamy, to look at it in isolation is narrow-minded and frankly, agenda driven.

The fact remains, when it comes to winning the NRL’s big dance, Bennett’s record over the last decade is 0-10, it really is that simple.

That’s not to say Seibold wasn’t a monumental failure either, because he absolutely was. But it truly is tiring, more than 2 years later, reading the same old, sliding doors shit.

It’s like saying ‘if only we’d signed Cameron Smith instead of Richard Swain we’d have won at least 5 more premierships’.

It’s purely hypothetical, utterly nonsensical and a massive waste of time.

It’s time to move on and forget about what MIGHT have been.

And discounts our utter failure of a medical department.

We were the worst qld side according to Paul the worst origin captain ever Gallen. But look at the history of Bennett’s successful teams and you’ll see he loves a monster power forward pack. Qld’s forward pack was immense this series and packed with the best forward talent in the nrl. The nsw media underestimated them big time just because they are pretty young.

You keep saying this but you know Anning and Hackney the Doctor and Physio have been doing it since 2008 and 2010?

I mean actually dirty, grubby - Gallen grubby.
Holding someone down? Big deal. Everybody does it. Hell we did it in the dying minutes of Game 3.
Being the NSW poster boy is annoying I'll grant you that :)

I suspect he got boo'd because, like a lot of us here, Cleary is NSW's golden boy, they are doing everything they can to hold him up as their superstar, and with the NSW crowd in game 2 the refs gave him a massive advantage with time and space. The post-game dribble was nauseating. For him to be exposed as he was in game 3 was satisfying to watch, so giving it to him on the stage would have been an extension of that.

Who knows? Maybe it’s time for a change?

Sorry, in your initial comment I thought you said Cleary played the game fairly and I was unable to cop that assertion given his record of unfair play.

It might be but the story seems to be that “Seibold’s staff is terrible” but in the medical field it’s the same as it’s been for a while.
And our injury run has been shocking since as far back as 2007, so yeah, they suck. Clearly other clubs do it better, it can't just be lucky.

Enjoyed it so much. Qld too good for smug NSW
