Well the previous coach/club has served him a shit sandwich that is the overpriced, underperforming, overrated halves combination nobody in there right mind will take off their hands because they are being paid stupid money.

What else can Hook do but embrace it, take big bites and try to swallow it down. Pretty much what Kev is doing with Milf.

Ben Hunt is 31 in a months time.

He is on $1,2m this season and next season, with a player option in his favour for a third season.

Sit back and let that marinate for a while. Ben Hunt at 31 is costing the dragons one point two million dollars for three more seasons.

If you want to feel better about our bad contracts; or you want to feel better about our promising players being snatched away with huge contracts, just remember this post.

That’s a great decision, you always want the guys that cannot handle the pressure or step up in the big games as your captain.
Probably should have picked someone that’s never played a big game or had to handle any pressure instead

I just cannot believe the value and length of that contract... I shake my head everytime I see it.

I just cannot comprehend how the powers that be decided to give BHunt that much money over that long a period, especially when they saw him in 2016 and his attempt at emulating a game managing halfback

The only change to the FoxLeague coverage is that every Wednesday, Matty Johns will conduct one on one interviews with various past and present stars of the game.

If his podcasts are anything to go by, they'll likely be the best show on the channel. I'm looking forward to the Karmichael Hunt interview in particular.

Otherwise it's largely the same line-up. NRL 360 three nights a week with a rotating panel that includes Rothfield, Hooper, Benji, James Graham, Lara, Elias, Spud & Toovey. No word on whether Paul Crawley will be involved but wouldn't be shocked to see him back.

The Matty Johns Show on Thursday and Sunday with the same cast as before.

The Fan every Saturday night so after three games of football if you're still in the mood to watch the one show that clearly has some passion behind it there you go.

The Big League Wrap will also return. Tune in to see Mick and Hoops regurgitate the same talking points Fox pushed through out the entire weekend that was. Every now and then they'll invite a current player on and you'll get to see them struggle in front of the camera as they try to remain as diplomatic and non-offensive as possible.

In case you missed all that, Fox will replay these shows ten times a week because on-demand television is for the birds.

I can see why they lead with Matty’s new show because it is the only thing worth getting excited about.

Well, I feel like I live under a rock now...

I've been wondering who this outside back from the Gold Coast Titans was, Greg Marzhew. I'd never heard the name before and didn't hear any news of the Gold Coast Titans signing some prodigy from Union or elsewhere.

As an unrelated thought, I wondered what had happened to Leleisiuao, one of the Gold Coast brightest junior prospects who only just returned after being poached by Parra.

Reading this article about Marzhew and finally I have my answer, there was a name change.

Usually when these name changes take place, it usually takes a few news websites to take place, or for whatever reason they never catch on. Jordan Leigh, Lachlan Plowman etc. come to mind. Here everyone was on the ball with Marzhew.

With that I feel like the Rugby League season can well and truly begin.

Clearly a dickhead of the highest order, but never fear the conduits to the people will tell us how much of a triumph it actually is
I can't remember who said it, but it's a major conflict of interest, even if I didn't think he's an A grade dickhead.

If the laws deems a player not guilty, and he still punishes them, he's effectively making a judgement on a police matter while still being a cop and if they are charged with something (like Curtis Scott) and the NRL let him play on (like they did) then he's effectively disagreeing with the police.

There is no way this is a good decision in any way.

Political creatures being placed in an entrepreneurial role, just a bad idea. RL has to compete with other sports and entertainment, why you would be looking to recruit from the non productive part of the economy (Politicians, bureaucrats) is a mystery.

Just read suuali wanted $1 million a season from south "medical retirement" Sydney.........

So this begs the question, what did the roosters pay him? NOT ONE QUESITON ASKED BY THE MEDIA OR NRL?! SERIOUSLY?!

Was also in the news today that another impressive junior who rugby Australia were battling to keep went to the roosters. Add this to Sam walker and it seems we have the blueprint for success everyone. Great for the game and the NRL. My guess is it'd be an almost reverse pyramid of the NRL table average of the past 10 years of you did a scale for the top junior spending/development/growth. Sad.... the game I love is nearly dead because of these deadset weekend chook raffle level small minded pokies loving Nsw Muppets. Deadset it's a fucking joke....

The million was for the last year of the five year deal- backing himself to be a million dollar player in five years. Not the entire deal.

Sam was 16 and in grade 12 when the Roosters got him- how much younger do you want clubs to get players? Walker doesn't deserve to be in your rant about development.
