Round 8 - Broncos vs Titans

I love kevie subtle little dig at dearden in the press conferance.

spoke about how important it is for a young half to actually get time playing isc to learn his craft.

talking about how he earnt the right to get a spot and it wasnt handed to him.

you can just tell it was directed at dearden.

i think kev truly did think he was the future of broncos he just wanted him to spend a solid year or so in isc first.

I have to eat my words re the Milf and Gamble into the squad this week. Gamble was a huge influence on the team. Competitive at every play, always backing up and has a bit of mongrel in him.

I think my favorite part of tonight was how dominant TPJ was.
He monstered Fifita all night, to the point where Fifita was second guessing himself and had one eye on permanent lookout for TPJ.
Fifita kicked on at least 3 times tonight, when his strength is running hard, and i reckon thats because he knew he was hard countered by TPJ and was desperately searching for a way through the line that didnt involve getting touched up by TPJ.

Every other coach will watch this game and take notes on Fifita and know exactly how to shut down the Titans biggest threat.
Fifita benefits a lot from Tino doing the hard yards and it frees him up on the edges.

Mirage Victory though i loved the pride of the team tonight.
Isaako completely failed to cover the depth field during the first 20 minutes. Three attacks three times the same try.
It started like a nightmare and despite the team reaction after the Herbie and Isaako tries we were still fragile.

Then comes the turning point of the game, the sin bin for Brimson was a very tough decision, unfair for me.
The Oates try definetly burried them.

They were Lucky and courageous tonight.

Love the pack tonight, the props, TPJ, Carrigan. I also liked the coaching, the entries of Flegler and Bullemor against a tired team, it was a good idea.

Gamble showed some good pass skills, but his defence is very light for the NRL ( alongside Milford there's a big hole in our defensive line )
Isaako except his cover, this Guy has fire in his legs, electric footsteps.
Oates played very simply, good defence, safe under the kicking game, thats all we need.

I'm very happy cause this victory gonna give confidence to the team, but our weakness are still here.

That’s not subtle lol. Love it.

Gamble was more effort than class obviously but love to see it

Now that was something special. To be down like that and turn it around to win the game. So happy for the lads and for Kev. I was pumped for this game, nearly died from the misery and then I was surprised the cops didn't turn up as the screaming from my lounge was embarrassing.

Loved what Gamble brought to the team, his aggression was inspiring and to see the boys all turn up for him at the tussle showed they thought so too, unlike a little ginger we know. Looked like he could get Milfs game on also and defended very well. I like him, Badel right onto the contract talk in the presser (so predictable)

Have not read through the comments yet but just also want to give Kennedy a rap tonight. He was good in the middle with more minutes and his offloads actually opened up the game tonight. Pretty good for the worst player in NRL right.....

Otherwise apart from the opening 20 all the team deserve a rap, Isaako for coming back so strong, Lodge and Hass for going forward, TPJ for bossing Dave, Oates for being the old Oates.

Kev is going old school, not afraid to use the ISC, not afraid to make a call and take a chance. All that crap talk about us being worse then last year is a complete joke, we would never of won this game 12 months ago. Good on ya Kev.

Yeah of course they are, the weaknesses aren't going to disappear over night but they fought back and won the game and some of the weaknesses were actively being addressed throughout the game and showed players were learning on the run and a lot of that was down to Gamble communicating.
