Imo Vunivalu is a dickhead, but if he helps us win games then sign him up right now. Hynes is a no brainer, just sign him.
Also we need some genuine pace on the flank and Vunivalu has both speed and power. I don't care if he can be nob or is full of himself as long as the club deals with him right. Sailor had a lot of nob qualities and Kev played his whole career nearly with him. So I am sure he can deal with him, also we have Petro a fellow Fijian and elder who culturally speaking would be seen as an authority figure.

Vunivalu is on 1mil+ in Union. No way he comes back to league without it being a monster deal, and he's not worth that. He has so many brain fades in his game, he isn't worth more than 450k/yr at an absolute maximum.

We need to forget these outside back positions now and concentrate on a hooker. Ours arent anywhere near good enough. After that probably a fullback.

We are apparently in discussions with said fullback now. Also, said fullback is best mates with the best hooker in the game, one can dream.

I'd like to think Grant is an option, but i doubt he is going to be sadly. Brandon Smith i think is good and a big step up on Turpin but i'm not convinced he is worth the money he wants.

Ok I don’t think that’s gonna work... completely agree with you we need Vunivalu but he seems very Aussie/Kiwi these days... I don’t think cultural dominance will keep him in check

do you work for the Courier Mail? ... because that's the level of inflation they like to apply

reports are Vunivalu is on 700k in union. so obviously if he want to come back to league, he'll need to take a significant pay cut

Bro we have a serviceable workhorse as our Hooker and our best outside back (apart from Staggs who is likely moving to 5/8) is leaving we need them
Farnworth ✅
Brenko ✅
Isaako (on a wing) ✅
Fullback - we need
a winger who isn’t getting gassed - we need

You can get away with servicable outside backs, i dont think you can with your spine. I'm all for bringing in value signings in the outside backs, i dont see that in Vunivalu. I'd rather spend the money on a hooker.

tend to agree with wolfie, you can get away with average outside backs but you really need a quality hooker to string it together, turpins a good defender but frankly that's it, his passes aren't great and doesn't offer much spark, i hope if we persist with him he proves me wrong but cant see broncos having any long term success with him just another Macca

Isaako's running game can be good, but that just means he should be able to do the same in other positions. The fundamentals, support play and ball playing are the things the Broncos need from a fullback right now.
I happen to believe Isaako is doing a fine job. Sure, he could be better but he is getting better all the time. I think Isaako would be wasted on the wing but I'm sure he could handle it and do a fine job. Currently, there's absolutely no one in our squad better suited to fullback so next year is next year, there's no point whingeing about the position this year( not saying you are)

Isaako is supporting this year, supporting and creating chances for others too. The focus should be on our mega bucks playmaker but no, there's more written about Isaako t hgan all the others put together. Milford has produced nothing, no tries and bugger all else. Isaako is at least contributing scoring four tries and laying on another four.

I understand what you mean but Turpin is better than any realistic option on the market, like I'm being real here. If we haven't been linked to them and their good the chances are theirs no chance cause I can't really see to many players that aren't after going home or a starting spot coming here. I know Brandon is looking for a starting spot but he is most likely going to stay at the Storm due to their culture, don't really see us signing him either but you know just using an example of one if not the only better available hooker on the market

Grant is the dream but aside from him some options I see are:

- Hodgson if Raiders release him a year early.
- Api available from 2023 (unlikely they’ll let him go early but if so I’d take him over Hodgson )
- Reed Mahoney for 2023
- if no one comes available I’d go after Granville as a cheap bench option over Levi for next year.

It typifies the attitude of the club over the past few years when we let Walsh go because we baulked at 400k a season....BUT we are going to attempt to sign Hynes for probably 100k more than that.
Nice work gents 👍
