I think we should aim for
1 Herbie Farnworth
6 Kotoni Staggs
7 Adam Reynolds
9 Josh Hodgson
14 Jake Granville

and sign Gagai to cover the centre spot left by Herbie. The other option is
1 Dufty
6 Staggs
7 Reynolds
9 Turpin
14 Granville

We need some spark off the bench with both of those hookers. I’d probably have Gamble play that position next year, realistically.

I don’t get the love for herbie. Seems iffy and I don’t think he’s fit enough for fullback. Seems gassed quite a lot and then let’s people run around him In defence.
I'll take anyone who's surname isn't Isaako. Literally anyone. Throw TPJ the #1 jersey if it gets Isucko onto a wing where he belongs.

I'm not so sure this is a good signing for Cronulla, he's obviously a good player but I am not seeing where their halfback is coming from

We won our last Grand Final with a Centre playing fullback, give Herbie a shot, he is big, fast and has good footwork plus he is fit as hell and always is there in support, him in the middle would be chaos for the opposition.

They have 3 five eighths right now, they got no fucken idea what they are doing, plus they overpaid I'm genuinely surprised Hynes would take that deal even when you put the money into it I can easily see that deal being his last in the NRL at that club.

**** I’m glad we didn’t entertain the 600k a year price tag. He is laughing all he way to the bank and the sharks will most likely have egg all over their faces next year.

I actually think Dufty is a much better option and will come at half the price. He is faster and his passing game has really improved. His support play is great too which is what we need. His only downside is his catching ability. He doesn’t look solid under the high ball

Yeah, our current fullback doesn’t either…

Dufty is good in attack though Hynes is statistically the best supporting player in the competition per game played.

Dufty like Isaako is basically useless in defence though, Not to say his defensive positioning is as bad as Isaako but Dufty is just too small defensively for modern rugby league. A gamble worth taking if we are a good defensive team but we are clearly not so I just don't see him being suitable for us.

Mate half the fullbacks in the comp aren’t big. Storm, tigers, sharks, dragons, warriors all have smaller fullbacks.

Your basing your support play stats off what exactly? One of them is playing in a team that is scoring 40 points each week and the other is playing in a team who have been playing horrible. The games that I have seen Dufty play his support play is one of the things that stand out to me. He always seems to be sniffing around the run waiting for an offload.

I think Dufty on 300k a year is a far far better deal then Hynes on 600k a year. At least with Dufty you know he can play well in a shit team. Hynes on the other hand has been playing in a team that has been flogging everyone. IMO he hasn’t proved anything yet.

Hynes is Number 1 in the comp in line break assists and #3 In try assits as well as #4 in the comp in support plays despite not being a starter in half his games, would you not say that says per game plays support wise he is number 1 in the comp for support plays?

Don't think I haven't been watching dragons games, I have and I really rate Duftys attack plays, since he went injured they have lacked massively in that area, and I do think he is an upgrade on Issako when it comes to that clearly, but defensively it's an issue and defensively we are terrible one of the worst in the competition so it doesn't fill me with confidence going for a player like that, that is all, Dufty is definitely a first grade standard player but I just don't think he is suitable for our team that's all.

Don't see a problem in paying overs to get the man your side needs. In reality it is the way of the Rugby League world these days. It’s about time we woke up and got on board.
This is exactly what we have been doing over the last few years and has put us in this awful position, were you being sarcastic and I missed it?

only the poorly run clubs do that ... because the fact is that paying overs ends up fucking your cap and side in the long run
Poorly run clubs have players not needed on overs. Puts them in a position of not being able to offer it when they really have a need to. I am agreeing with you but its not always black and white - there are and will always be exceptions.
In any sport to be the best you need to have the best and that comes at a price. That is unless, in Rugby League, you are an exceptional team with an exceptional coach and can get away with paying on the money or unders. Unfortunately we are no longer one of those teams.

I think you could be partially right. We could say that another team paid overs for a player and we'll just wait another year for someone better...but then someone is going to offer that player overs as well, its not going to stop. Broncos got lucky with Reynolds (assuming he lives up to the expectations here), but more often than not, I think they are just going to get outbid unless they offer overs as well. That's probably going to keep happening until the Broncos can be as successful as the Storm or the Roosters.
Totally agree. As I’ve posted elsewhere, whilst your a team on struggle street, you have really no other options.

No wasn't being sarcastic. We are paying overs for players we didn’t need ( remember the debate about where Jack Bird was going to play ) or players we no longer need ( Milf ).
All and sundry can clearly see our roster and cap are a shambles. We no longer have a benefit of the pulling power of a Wayne Bennett or the runs on the board to entice good players - without buying them.

Isaako hasn't been as bad as many people want to believe. still a bit to work on but he's building nicely in his first full season at the back.

so far this season he has:

5 tries
6 try assists
1477 run meters (average of 123m per match)
7 line breaks
5 line break assists
48 tackle breaks
