Fucking Isaako, nowhere to be seen🤔

Good to see Oatesy trying hard to get back into first grade. I thought he didn't really deserve to be dropped but he's just a bit heavy(slow and lacking agility?) for first grade I think.

Oates will be back for the Rabbitohs game based on that, if he's not then I am bewildered at what else a single guy can do to get back into the team that is currently running 2nd last.

Wonder who started that winning try? Guy in the one, the 1 looked familiar. He jumled into fkrst receiver, obviously was up supporting, charged right and then quickly shifted it back left. Good work there. Wonder who it was?

His quality in attack has never been up for debate, it's what he does when he doesn't have it.

Going out there but Glenn at Lock. He has to be in the team I suppose so he gets in there and just focuses on tackling, even bring him off the bench

Well yes, just saying that's true of Oates too. I don't think Isaako is finished at fullback and I'd guess KW would have wanted him playing another position if indeed he did consider him finished. Anyway, I'll say no more and just be happy that both guys got to feel like winners again.

I'm thinking maybe Kevie should let Glenn run training for this one. And just watch and see if he's missing something.

I think it's time to move on concerning C. Oates. It has been evident for quite some time that he is clearly past his best and his career is winding down. It would be nice to offload his contract somewhere else but I'm not sure if there would be any takers.

A list in itself is a thing of beauty, it can be done different, but can never be done better.
That’s not quite right. Glen is in every list. so far - wtf.

Winding down but still better than any of our backs except for maybe Farnworth.

As BigPete said in the QCup thread when you posted this there it started with Oates. Actually a bit earlier than that with Sam Scarlett bombing to Oates (wrong play clearly). Oates brought it back to halfway brushing off a couple of tackles.

Oates also made a few line breaks during the game. One where he should have passed. In saying that he backed himself to beat the fullback, Farr but was tackled well. His support runner was also covered so it was an even bet imo.

The only thing I would say is that his ball carrying going fwd is pretty good but still suspect under the high ball and his pace is gone. That said he would be more useful than Glenn for a start. For mine I would like to try him at centre.

That is extremely debatable but I'm not going to argue about something so unimportant. If what you say is true, then it's just one of a plethora of problems this club has.

Great word that, plethora. Very apt.

Souths aren't as good as you might think they are but they've got the right edge which seemingly scores a try every time they go there.

We can't give them any field position, that's basically what it's going to come down to. They have been made to look ordinary a few times this year.
Canberra hadn’t won a game in a month and lost every home game since round 1 I think. So they aren’t as good either. But playing the broncos is an opposed training run these days.

I’ve seen people say stuff like this about south’s but they’ve only lost to two teams this year. IMO they are head and shoulders the 3rd best team in the comp and it’s really just the riff and the storm out in front of them

They do have a soft underbelly though and their vulnerability definitely showed against the two big guns and on a few occasions previous to that. The Broncos don't have near the arsenal to expose that though and Souths won't break a sweat and still win comfortably.
