According to Fox Sports, the lock will join the Sharks on a deal worth $2.5 million over four years — about $600,000 per season. Dale Finucane.

On that kind of money, with that kind of record, Why didn't we seal the deal?? If we are talking about transplanting a culture, Capwell, Finucane, would have been tremendous.

there was an article this morning saying that in the 4th year his pay drops significantly ... meaning he is probably on closer to 800k a season for his first 3 years.

the article seems to be gone (or altered) now, and replaced with praise for Fitzgibbon

I predict Finucane will be average once he leaves the Melb system. Not bothered at all about not signing him.
I think it depended on where he went. I think he’ll be a good buy for the Sharks who have done pretty well with the recruiting this season.

Fitzgibbon
McInnis
Dale
Hynes

They’ve also seen the departure of Woods, Dugan, and most importantly Chad.

Considering the team they already have is is great roster management. They are probably just short a good organising half now.

Melbourne forwards very rarely go well elsewhere. I can only think of Tolman who kept up his form elsewhere.

Depends on the club and coach. Usually they end up in shit systems and are expected to fix everything. Tino is great, Blair was great for us most of the time he was here.

Fitzgibbon is a good coach and Sharks use their forwards well. I think he’ll be fine. Plus he was good prior to going to Storm too.

It's more of a reflection of the storm system than any other club. Good players will look great in their system and revert back to the status quo outside of that. I don't think spending 800k on Finucane would have improved us. Look at last night, does an extra forward help us win that match or a better spine player?

Anyone wanting a glimpse of the superstar winger we have apparently purchased can tune in to Dragons v Titans as he’s named on the wing.

Absolute spud of a player and not first grade standard. I hope we haven’t actually signed him, he’s an outside back version of Jensen. Shit and too old to stop being shit.
Scored a try and ran over 150m can't complain if it's to replace Kenner i guess

Completely agree. But I think it’s a good buy for a club with a decent spine which the Sharks mostly have.

Very happy to "miss out" on that one.

Tohu Harris is another exception to the rule.

Going back a few years but Jeremy Smith played his best football after leaving Melbourne. That was one of those cases where he was just starting to come good before he got squeezed out of the team.

1. Kennedy
6. Hynes
7. Trindall
9. McInnes (c)
13. Finucane (c)

McInnes and Finucane as co captains could have some merit. It’s a strong spine Sharks have now. Trindall is looking very good. Have always wanted him at the Broncos.

I understand that we are in a position where we don’t want to rush youngsters in, but Ezra Mam. He may be to good to be left out. Tbh I haven’t watched him but his stats every week are far superior to the ones Walsh was putting up before he debuted this year. There’s others like Mariner, Va’A and Mozer who I think next year towards the later end of the season should definitely be given an opportunity to debut and see if there ready, be that off the bench for 10-20 minutes if we must. But just really curious are we that off playing youngsters young that we pass up on Mam to play next year? It’s up for debate, I don’t really know the answer myself but to be fair his situation is far different to deardens in that he will have a very experienced half beside him.

Isn’t Mozer like 16?
