Yea but I think they haven't taken into account that some of these teams won't be as good next year. E.g. souths. With teams like us and the Bulldogs expected to be much better.
 
Top and Bottom numbers will always be skewed as those teams can’t play themselves so we’ll likely have a higher number than a top 8 and vice versa, we’ll have less vs bottom 8 as we can’t play ourselves so there’s one less team in our ‘half’

Was gonna say the same thing. I think 6 bottom 4 teams is the most we can play because the other 2 games would be against ourselves. The Storm have got the maximum they can play against Top 4 teams.
 
Im not too worried about the draw. We have an easier 1st 8 rounds than last year. I think its pivotal to start the season with a bang or risk self-doubt creeping in, when you are coming from the bottom 8.
We also have a few new players that will need time to adjust and some softer games at the start will be more forgiving to the inevitable mistakes that go with that.
After round 8 though, youre either good enough or not and we should expect this team to atleast take it to anyone we play (if not win). No excuses this year.

There's 14 possible 'top 8' games for a top 8 side. Yet the ONLY team in the whole comp with 14 top 8 games is us. Again.

Tell you what though for a team in the bottom 4 (that can't vs themselves), Cowboys have had a dream draw the last couple of years. Not that it helped them this year clearly.
 
When was the last time we played the storm once in a season? Lol... yep "draw" is not the right word for what the nrl do, that would imply randomness>decreases bias and manipulation. If the nrl truly wanted a draw why aren't they getting everyone to play once then draw the rest of the games out of a hat. Ffs that is a DRAW, you literally draw it out if a hat! That would be fair!
 
You could just have it rotating over a set period.

Each year every club is required to play 9 teams twice, with 15 clubs you can schedule it out over 5 yr so each team plays each other the same amount of times over a cycle.

I think over 5yrs you would play each team 8 times so that falls out to 4 home games and 4 away games... for 1yr out of 5 we would end up playing a rival like the cowboys once and it would be away4, but for the other 4 out of 5 yrs there would be a broncos vs cowboys at Suncorp. On the one off year you just build anticipation for the next time broncos play cows at Suncorp.... build it into a spectacle.

At the end of 5yrs you start the cycle over again.

It's what the NFL do when scheduling 32 teams across a 17 round year

Haha future planning, what the heck is that?

And goodness me, we play in Melbourne in the middle of winter again, so they'll get nowhere near as many people as they could and if we do go, we come away with haemorrhoids.
 
Abdo said during the draw announcement that there will be a new format for pre-season trials.

wouldn't say what it will be though
