The Brisbane Broncos can provide an update on an injury sustained by fullback Tesi Niu in Friday night’s game against the Panthers. Niu underwent a scan on his hamstring at the Qscan Clive Berghofer Facility today which revealed a Grade 3 hamstring strain. Broncos Head Of Performance Dave Ballard said: “Tesi will see the specialist later this week to determine if he will require any surgery, and we will move forward from there. “We are looking at a recovery period of at least 10 weeks without an operation, and up to four months if surgery is required. “Tesi is second-to-none in terms of his commitment to preparation and rehab, and we will provide him all the support he needs as he works his way back to full fitness.”

If it's surgery, he's basically not due back to round 23ish.

Can Cobbo handle a whole season at fullback? Doubt it but I guess we'll find out.

The only reason I can see to not go Herbie is if he's signed elsewhere

I wouldn't be surprised to see Redcliffe announce Ponga, Munster and Farnworth all together.

If we don't beat at least two of Bulldogs, Souths and Manly it will be effectively season over in my view. If we are 2/10 or 3/10 we will not make the 8.
We just lost our fullback who was already near the bottom of fullbacks in the comp.... squad depth is required to be a finals contender and any depth we had at fullback has been happily shipped off to other clubs this year.

The calls for finals this year with this squad are ridiculous in my opinion.

I agree, and if by pure luck we jag it, we will be toast and out first game.

Unlike most on this forum, I’m a huge Tesi fan. He was having a cracker of a game Friday night, if he doesn’t pull his hammy he scores his 2nd try and who knows what happens for the rest of the game (the reshuffle was a killer in the last quarter).

Hopefully Cobbo can live up to his hype.

It would be interesting to hear the thoughts on why we did get rid of Isaako and let Arthars go to the Warriors for nothing. Especially given we are possibly losing Herbie as well, so unless that intel is wrong, things are looking eerily bad again.
