Wonder if Payne went to the Kia day with the rest of the Players today...no sign of him in photos on the Broncos socials

He’s good as gone. I wouldn’t release him though. Just let him rot and not play him at all, his effort last night was pathetic. 50% down on his usual performances.

I still think its weird he addressees the whole situation to the rest of the team by a message instead of face to face.
You are reading into it too much, Haas sent the message on Thursday evening after the news came out. Obviously wanted to try and squash (for want of a better word) the news as soon as he could.

I dont think so tbh. Something this big i'd always be doing face to face or at least get them all on a group chat, which i know they have, to tell them whats happening. Plenty of other players have addressed the group much better than this idiot has. Sending a text message is lame imo. He could have quite easily spoke to them all as well before he left training on the day it broke.

He’s got a lot to do if he wants to stay at all. Dropping his manager, a public apology, taking a reasonable salary, learning how to offload, turning his back on the Blues and representing the Philippines instead and getting a Bronco tattoo is a good start.

So if my understanding is correct. Haas has new management team and as such the only way they will make money out of him is when he signs a new contract which would be 2024 at the Broncos as things stand. This will only change if he gets an upgrade before then or if he moves on. There is no doubt in my mind that this whole debacle is 100pct driven by his management team and Haas agrees with this tactic. To me it is all about the money and Haas is no longer committed to the Broncos. I would keep him till seasons end then cut him loose. To me he is the one remaining fukwit we need to get rid of.
Now on to last night's booing, I have to admit I booed his every touch until I was hoarse. I am not proud of myself for doing this, in all my time following the Broncos and my soccer team, never ever have I booed one of my own players, ex players, yes depending on the reasons they left. Of all current NRL players, the one I detest the most is Haas, and he is one of ours, how sad is that.

I was there and booed too. I am incredibly proud of myself and my fellow fans that did the same.

Why are people feeling sorry for a person who wants to walk out because he thinks he’s bigger then the club? He only cares about money and I can guarantee you he doesn’t care if you hate him or love him.

he’s a flog and deserves everything he gets especially the booing.

So we sign him long term on big money for an 18 year old on the back of a shoulder recon. He accepts a deal that overpays him for his stage if career.

He goes through multiple disciplinary incidents and the club supports him.

He outperforms his peers and his performance means that he is producing above his pay packet and Broncos calculated risk on him has paid off for the club.

Payne goes to the club and says I want an upgrade based on my genuinely good performance. Broncos despite having an airtight contract upgrade him based purely on goodwill and form. Broncos don't receive an extension or anything in return.

He blames his manager for the deal not being top dollar and then turns on the broncos about his current well paid deal.

He then decides that he no longer wants to play for the broncos unless he can stay for top dollar of what he thinks can get on the market.

He requests a release a day before the game despite the previous goodwill with his disciplinary issues and altruistic contract upgrade shown to him and in no consideration for the impact on the team.

Payne Haas is entitled, badly behaved and ungrateful. His only redeeming feature is his ability to play rugby league and his dedication to his sport.

He only wants to stay if he gets top dollar from his club. Usually players will stay for a bit less. Not payne. He disregards every bit of goodwill shown to him and requests a release. Despite this Kevvie and the players are gracious about his behaviour and allow him to keep his place despite it destabilising the club. The broncos are too good for Payne.

Payne Haas deserved every boo he got. Players won't boo players who negotiate more money and leave. They understand despite being disappointed. They boo players who disrespectful and selfish.

For me we let him negotiate with clubs demand a minimum 500K transfer fee and move him on as soon as possible. I wouldn't pick him again for the club. If he gets injured watch him stay and take his cash.

I would also speak to the NRL and make sure his under contract years he isn't paid a dollar more. I will acknowledge he played well last night but after all. Its his one redeeming feature.

I’m fine with everything that’s happened as far as the booing and heckling-having an entire stadium of home fans booing you should be a massive wake up call to him.

I’m happy to have him stay on an acceptable salary and he pulls his head in and commits. The ball is in his court now as to what happens and in turn how the fans receive him.

Payne’s got some soul searching to do, unfortunately I feel he’s too stubborn and stuck in his beliefs (both religious and non) to accept this dose of reality with any kind of objectivity or pragmatism to make any good changes for himself.

He’s still a young guy and we’ve all been there thinking we know what’s best for ourselves at that age.

Hope he sorts himself out quickly for everyone’s sake

With the company he keeps, they will be reinforcing a victim mentality in him throughout this entire ordeal.
Him getting boo'd will be ammunition for the likes of SBW and Mundine to show him the broncos fans hate him and he can get more money and respect elsewhere, regardless of this all being a repercussion of Haas behavior and attitude.

I am almost certain he will end up at the Roosters or the Dogs.
