Why would anyone be stupid enough to sign Milf for three years? He needs a short term deal to keep fit.
Its really hard to believe Newcastle are actually offering such things....

Fox article saying Knights are going to offer Milford a 3 year deal 😂

Apparently has a handshake deal for a 1 year contract with the Dolphins so Knights are trying to get him to reneg on that.

Just from the limited Newcastle games I have seen, he's an upgrade on anything else they've got in the halves

Well the question is, are they? Or is Milford's management claiming it (and "leaking it") to get the Dolphins to stretch a bit further?

Whatever the actual amount it's clear that a lot of clubs are very poorly run, and having even a decent management is a huge leg up over most of your competition. Get some very good key people like Brisbane seem to now have and it's possible to be up the pointy end of the ladder consistently.
For sure. You make a great point.

The difference DD and Ikin have made to the club and in particular the way Kevvie goes about his business is chalk and cheese. I remember how much Kevvie was burdened with trying to do everything at the club before DD and Ikin arrived.

Once they were both settled in their jobs Kevvie's output increased dramatically.

The teamwork to make the dreamwork.

Lodge reportedly will join the Roosters for the remainder of the season on around the "$100k mark" according to Rothfield.

it has been reported that rival clubs, including the Eels, have been circling Lodge for weeks but have baulked because of the NRL’s ruling that he has to be included in the salary cap at notational value of around $20,000 a game.

the Roosters have 8 games left in the regular season, after this week (plus finals if they make it), so that would mean that under the reported notational cap the Roosters would need to pay at a minimum $160K ... so clearly the NRL have changed their minds about a notational value of Lodge for the Roosters.

Rothfield also says the roosters have enough in their cap after Ronald Volkman and Freddy Lussick left mid season

let me be the first to say ... :rofl :rofl :rofl

Even if you can get him pro rata and a small amount- why? Lodge has been a negative influence no matter where he's been.

He won't contribute to anything in that eight weeks.
Yeah roosters are looking wobbly as it is, last thing they need is a disruptive force like Lodge.

JWH, Lodge, and Radley in the same pack would be so easy to put off their game with their terrible emotional control. Please pick Gamble next time we play them.

There's been mixed reports regarding Lodge. The popular belief is he's a negative influence because he's a player that doesn't want to put in etc. But from what I've been hearing, he's been a negative influence because he doesn't tolerate people not putting in and gets up the players if they don't.

He was one of the few Warriors players that was trying out on the field. He was always trying to come up with a big run or a big hit to inspire the players. That's not really going to be an issue at the Roosters so I don't see the downside.

think it’s more that he thinks he knows better than most and let's everyone know , hence his run ins.

Yeah and he plays selfish on the field. From what I observed he is another powerful forward who isn’t able to cop surrendering for a quick play the ball in the right area of the field for his halves.

He could be on his sixth club soon and has had issues with everyone; Warriors gave him 700k to go away after another blow up with someone.

At some point in time you have to reflect on yourself and think maybe it's not everyone else.

If he causes issues at the Roosters, I’m all for them getting him.

I've met Lodge a few times and he's always come across like a decent bloke, but i did always get the impression there was something just bubbling under the surface with him. Anyone in know who has played with him doesnt have a bad word to say about him. I think its all about how he goes about things and if he sees players not doing what he perceives as the right thing i dont think he handles it in not the most diplomatic way. I dont doubt he would rub people up the wrong way.
