Looking fwd to seeing Mariner outside Ezra though . That`s one area Brenko is not as strong , attacking from further out . The space Ezra is creating on the left needs a Herbie / Mariner kinda guy to exploit it from 30 / 40 m out. Brenko hasn`t got the speed to .

Mariner is express I read some one from the Broncos say in the pre season .
But as Kevvie keeps on saying - defence 1st .

Mairner has proven he can step up and has a habit of being ready.

Three tries in the semi final against Wynnum then a try in the final against Townsville and three in the State final.

Four on ISC debut- second player to do it.

I wouldn’t be shocked if he scores on debut.

What is his preferred side?

Mairner's strength this season has been running. Just get him the ball and he runs, the try he scored against Mackay was classic him- back inside at 45 degrees and bit of disruption in the line and he is perfect to take advantage of it.

Has such big powerful legs and so fast off the mark. He could easily score two tries on debut.

What he hasn't been doing is dummy half work and kick returns- Wynnum rotate him playing wing and centre so he's not returning kicks.

Hoeter will be great for him.

Inside the 10 it`s harder to score with 13 in the line , so play the big plays from 20 -40 out and get around their edges ?
Inside the 10 offloads with little men backing up . Or Haas if he feels inclined . lol .

Firstly I think they are seperate sides he definitely wasn’t at the start of the year and since coming back Della has been in and out but Lyons and Deine have been right side.

Also a potential cup combination with him is null and void considering they are on other sides of the field this weekend.

I am a big fan of herbie but brenko's experience on the edge has been good.

There was a try hoeter scored against the titans where reynolds threw the cut-out to hoeter.

It went just in front of brenko who could have caught it or gone for a bat-on but he let it pass him and go to hoeter, knowing that he would have more room on the outside. I dont think herbie makes that play.

I just think brenko's subtle contributions have been a little over looked.

What about his defence though? We seem ok in our attack, but it's our new attitude in defence which has had the biggest impact this year.

Seems like he has some size to him too and is taking some nice carry’s out of our own end. He’s going to be a real asset come finals.
