Cowboys will give all Cowboys to the Blackhawks. They will be a Cowboys reserve grade with the Pride and Cutters relying on locals and their own players.

Weren’t we told this model doesn’t work anymore?

It probably doesnt work for some of the QCup clubs financially, but it probably gives the Cowboys and Blackhawks an advantage. I know some people disagree and will say about the financial aspect of it all, but if we are will to fund a similar plan i'd be all for it.

It will be interesting to see what the Dolphins do. How many will they send to the Capra's compared to Redcliffe.

Six to Dolphins six to Capras.

Blackhawks don't want it, but don't have a choice. Be interesting to see how it works. They're worried it will make them a strong team but not a strong club.

I do think it has the potential to hurt clubs. Their own players are going to get pushed aside. I guess in some ways if the Cowboys want a side of their own they should fund it themselves and see if they can find a way to get it done.

@1910 do you know if Cowboys are in full control of the club top to bottom now staff wise(essentially like a NSW cup team).

The Cowboys were always very hands on with their ISC clubs. They have a rep on the boards, the coaches are Aaron Payne, Michael Morgan and Ty Williams.

Michael Luck is heavily involved with all three NQ clubs.

Reibel and Luck just did a two-day conference for Townsville Rugby League.

Souths Meninga defence started poorly.

94 points against last year.

Dolphins 56-14 today.

Phillip Coates- Xavier's brother played for Souths. Leota may be wishing he finished Meninga last season too.

@1910 What are the likely spines for the 3 feeders in cup? Not sure of the player allocations yet and I’m very curious.

The Magpies didn't touch the ball for the first 10 minutes. The Dolphins just rolled them through the middle, 'earned' penalties and they'd score not long after. When the Magpies finally got themselves into the game with a scrappy try they failed to take the kick-off. By that point, the Dolphins brought their bench on and they were just punching holes through the middle.

It wasn't a good afternoon for Leota. Barely saw any ball and when he did he dropped it cold right as Taputoa made a clean break, passed it over the sideline, let in a try attempting an intercept and let their #14 burrow over after giving way a set restart on the last.

He was in good company, the back three kept turning the ball over and nobody played well.

If I had to pick a stand-out for the Magpies, I'd go with the Magpies #9 and captain Jacob Tinsley. On an afternoon where nothing was going the Magpies way, Jacob was always trying to change the tempo of the game with very limited opportunities.

I expect an improved performance next week against the Burleigh Bears. It's tough to imagine they'll give away the amount of penalties that they did to open the game.

Waqa is some player. He just smashed the Magpies.

Dolphins 66% of the ball.

Waqa 174m- he's going to destroy some people this season. He's the new Pahulu.

Waqa just timed his runs to perfect, always looked for the inside shoulder so he could find his front and set the Dolphins up for that sweep for Donesvki.

It wasn't like he was up against slouches either. Leapai Jr is one of the most highly touted props in the competition.

Scott is a Bronco playing Cyril for Toowoomba he played fullback on the weekend and was sensational but plays halves for St Marys.

Two tries and one goal but pops up all over the place- good feeling for the game. Love his dedication in defence.

Scott- 232m and two line breaks and two tries and one goal.

Not bad for your Cyril debut.

With a name like Braithen, he's definitely got a rats tail. If he doesn't, he's just exuding that rat tail energy.
