Do you have any suggestion of how the broncos are feeling about loosing these 2?Just went out Flegler a Dolphin 24-27.
As a fan, how do you feel about your team now having about $1.1 million freed up to spend elsewhere?Do you have any suggestion of how the broncos are feeling about loosing these 2?
What do you call an animal that is half Dolphin-half Bronco?

I see your point but from where I am sitting if we retained both for anywhere near what they are getting that would have been the real disaster in terms of recruitment. It has to be said, it's been an awful recruitment drive so far.
They failed to hang onto their two hottest free agents, let their hottest prospect walk and so far they've only been able to hang onto bench players.
The year is only young, but they're going to have to rebound like they did with their 2021 recruitment drive. That was catastrophic until they got Reynolds.
I don't get the sense the Broncos are going to go on the front foot like they did with Adam. I get the sense that they're going to try their luck with Mariner & Willison and let the cards fall where they may. If they pick up a solid fringe first grader that will likely do them.
The 2019 rebuild is the gift that keeps on giving.
So what happens at the end of 24 when Payne signs with the rorters/bullfrogs?The Broncos have made it clear that Payne and Patty are the top two seeds and will be treated as such.
Players are ok with that and understand that but like Herbie if someone else says we think you're up there for us then you have a call to make.

I feel like we might be able to afford a halfback to succeed Reynolds - if the need arises. As a fan, how do you feel about your team now having about $1.1 million freed up to spend elsewhere?

There is a way to handle this and what the good clubs usually do is land a big signing before the other shoe drops.

If figures are correct and it was 800k+ for Fleggs then I get it but you’d have to say the dolphins are killing us with this recruitment drive. They’d be absolutely loving this, as would the NRL.

I tend to agree and believe Payne is more likely to stay however, if they haven’t extended him you can bet the dolphins, roosters, bulldogs, knights and titans will go pretty hard for him. Unfortunately you cannot take peoples ‘word’ any longer with regards to if they’re going to stick around or not.People need to take a few deep breaths and try no to over react.
call it a gut feeling, but I think many things have changed in regards to Payne, since his manager tried to get hi slice of the pie early by demanding a release.
the biggest thing is the situation with his mother (she's unlikely to get out of prison in a couple of year).
secondly, it's become clear that Payne will be one of our main middle forwards and his next offer will reflect that.
on the chance that he does leave in 2 years, we'll have around $1 million dollars to spend on other top prop to back up Patty (assuming one of our rookies hasn't got to that level yet) ... and you can get an elite prop for $1 million a season ... so relax
