Yeah I have a lot of concern about Cobbo too.

Maybe i am being overly critical of our recruitment, but i still cant work out how we always seem to end up with players who are way more comfortable in the right center position. I think Reed was probably the last genuine left center we had. Surely when we look at a player we know where we already have players in that position.

Just haven't found any left handed 'the biggest and the fastest' yet

Succession planning doesn't seem to come into it with our talent identification... haven't had a hooker coming through since 2008... will Mozer be the first
 
I see your point with succession planning, but I think in DD & Ikin we trust.
We have an embarrassment of riches in the forwards and 3/4 line too. The future spine of:

9. Mozer
7. ???
6. Mam
1. Walsh

Will be fantastic. Madden could take the 7 if he wants it. Then it’s a case of identifying the right puzzle pieces to support the spine. We’ll be ok.

Hunt could have been elite at hooker if he focused on it but he's good as a 7 so you can see why he never stayed in the role.

Jayden wasnt setting the world on fire here. Took him years before he even made a big impact in Queensland cup at Wynnum though really. Hard to know what will happen with Simpkin. I personally dont see what people see in him but a bit like Paix, he does need to start to kick on a bit.

Haven't seen much of Simpkin to suggest he's one we missed out on... has either been injured or somehow stuck behind Liddle so far, but we didn't retain him anyway.

Hunt was always a 7 coming through... I'd say Hook used him as a bench hooker to get him reps in NRL more than anything

Our preference seems to be grabbing halfbacks and converting them into hookers
 
We were always going to lose a couple, we keep Herbie and we lose Cobbo or Mariner, or both. We keep Flegler and we lose Haas or Carrigan. I really think it’s as simple as that, you only have so many positions and so much money to spend on them, you start messing with that and your cap is suddenly out of whack and you then maybe lose Mozer.

I absolutely hope & want Kev to be that hard nosed guy who only wants continuous improvement and performance every training session and every second of the game. There shouldn't no 2 ways about it.

Kev had won multiple premierships ffs and he surely knows what it takes to be a better team to win a premiership. Time has well past him to be a nice guy still. He should demand and dictate things with the playing group and if any player doesn't buy it, they can go kick stones. It's about time for Kev to show all the moranic fuckheads that he's here to win premierships and not get called a "nice guy, can't coach,....." .

I am glad to hear that Kev has started focusing on performances at training and we're destined to have good times from now onwards. Go on Kev, get us our much awaited premiership NOW!

1 in 10 are left footers / left handers .

Then you have Dane Gagai and Cobbo who are natural lefties but are played on the right .
 
As it stands, looking at 23 v 24, and bear in mind there will no doubt be significant changes to our roster for 24 with no doubt one decent player from somewhere coming in but thoughts?

I reckon Robati being a moron has really dented our succession planning in the forwards, he would have been a mainstay for sure.
