I felt we were the better team in the first half, but let ourselves down by once again trying to score on every play.

Souths only stayed in it thanks to numerous piggy back penalties to get them out of their half.

Second half on the other hand was atrocious. Just dumb, dumb, dumb.

We've seen signs all year of the impatience of this team, and we got punished for it tonight. We need to mature and take a smarter approach when we have possession.

Of course Haas, Oates and Mam were a loss, but based on some of the signs we showed in the first half, we were still capable of winning the match without these blokes. Sadly our idiocy let us down time and time again.

Souths look like a mature footy team, meanwhile we give the ball away on tackle one trying to score off every play.

Not gonna dwell too much on individual performances, but **** our right edge needs a lot of coaching. Kotoni doesn't know how to stop himself from getting dominated out of yardage. Cobbo is probably going to break records for errors in his career.

madden is shit house, he can’t be picked again. Staggs bombed about three tries too and might’ve edged out Madden as worst on field.

Overall, we played terribly but were missing two of our best players including the best forward in the game. Cop our medicine and move on.

Well that answered some questions. But not the answers we wanted.
Lot of blown chances early on. Initially looked the better team. Not by the end, though.
Some out of character issues that can't be blamed on depth: Staggs' passing, Herbie's defence, Selwyn's positioning.
Didn't notice Madden much. Probably on par with Billy, maybe not even.
Still plenty to like.

The second half has been painful to watch but honestly I think the score flatters the Bunnies. We were all over then in the first half, and we could have been up by twenty but for some impatience. Conceding early after the half and immediately losing Herbie - justifiably - turned it in their favour.

One of those nights too where the bounce of the ball just didn't go our way, while they scored at least three tries I can think of where it just fell perfectly for them.

Add Haas, Mam and Oates back into this team and the rematch goes very differently I'll wager.

Payne has deserves a pay rise
Problems were far deeper than one player. Losing Haas certainly hurt us, but he only makes 1, maybe 2 hit-ups in a set max. A lot of our players were getting pushed back and layed all over.

Klein was shithouse as normal...

But our backs were dreadful. Staggs made three poor errors and kicked on the second tackle, costing us 4 really good opportunities.

Herbie made a couple of runs but dropping that catch because he copped a bump was disappointing, the trip and sinbin was unforgiveable.

Capewell has been a passenger in defence all year and souths really exposed that - throwing a lot of traffic his and Madden's way and that caused big problems for us.

We butchered so many breaks, half chances... ughhh that was the most frustrating part... other than them lying all over us. We need to get better at appealing for penalties as a team.

Yeah we aren’t premiership winning material this year.
