The Olam is a clearer shoulder charge than the Walsh one. His shoulder is cocked and he is making no attempt to wrap, plus this is Olam's MO. If Walsh got charged (and I am not saying he shouldn't), Olam should have too.
I disagree, Olam extends his right arm and wraps it around Walsh. He leads with the shoulder but by extending the arm it's a legitimate tackle.

Now whether he was onside would be the question.

In that case, Walsh’s arm eventually motions toward Olam, therefore making it a legitimate tackle. One bloke got hit with the point of a shoulder and the other copped a back and half a shoulder. Which one in all over the news today?

What a silly query Pete. They were playing in Melbourne. How could they be offside? A bit of cognizant dissonance there matey.😉

That's after contact, when Walsh initiates contact he turns and tucks his arms in before extending out.

It doesn't look so bad on the hard camera, but the front on angle shows it.

That could have easily been a penalty try. Great effort from Walsh to roll the dice and cover up some all-round poor defence from everyone.

Sebastian Kris did the same thing in the game against us and nothing happened, that said we scored off that and they tend to allow shoulder charges if the attacking team scores.

The other thing about Walsh's tackle is that when walsh is coming into wrap his arms around him, Olam leans his shoulder into him reducing the time & space Walsh has to react

That's where the possible 8 point try should be extended. However you see it all the time, a team will try and commit a professional foul, the team scores regardless and nothing happens. In certain situations, you'd almost take the no try and take the 10 minute sin-bin instead.

oh the bunker by all rights should not get shit wrong they have the luxury of 4k replays and shit we dont see but here we are week after week even the touch judges wtf they do these days? i cant remember the last time the ref got tipped off on something by the touch judge

I don't believe for a second the bunker has extra angles.

Sorry mate, I love you and value you but in this instance, I just simply don't agree. If anything they are basically the same and Olam's is arguably worse but I can live with both being considered a shoulder charge.

The Welch hip drop is strange in the sense that he does everything bar trap Cobbo's leg. He grabs hold up top, uses his body weight to bring Cobbo to ground but somehow he ends up on the otherside of Cobbo's legs.

The NRL have made it clear that the outcome is important, which is what made the Carrigan sin-bin so baffling.

I don't make the rules but go to 0:55 does Olam extend his right arm or not?

I'd argue less than Walsh does but again for argument's sake, certainly not more.
Reece Walsh clearly tucks his arm into his body. You're saying Olam has also tucked his arm into his body?
