2027 he can chase the bigger money in union just in time for the world cup. By then Willison and Te Kura will be ready to take over.
I think the length of this extension works out for the club and Payne.

My guess is this had already happened a week ago when kevy was coy in the press conference. Good on haas for getting this done before finals. On first look it's a 3 year extension from 2023. Coincides with Walsh coming off contract where I think the club will make the right call in who to keep. By that time we will have Te Kura and Willison as value ready to soak up Paynes cash when he goes to the Roosters. Possibly after we win a few premierships.

Gus also seemed to pull a 180 on the situation and after talking Haas up like he was the two million man and could make any club a contender, he seemed convinced the Broncos weren't going to allow him to test free agency.

And, LOL just as the Dogs convinced TPJ to move on for his 'boxing dream' - and you watch him come out with Canterbury Leagues as his main sponsor. Was clearly an effort to try and poach Haas.
