My issue with the Tapine hit is the lack of accountability. It's fair game and within the rules, but Walsh was clearly hobbling and the game was well and truly over. You decide with 20 seconds to go that's the time to put on a big hit? To potentially maim another one of our star players like your team did last year?

Just own it, it was a dog shot. We can laugh about it now but it was opportunistic as anything and in the exact same realm as the Justin Hodges on Brett Morris shot.
It was a massive dog shot, he “B” lines it from 20m away (count it). If not for the no punch rule, that would have been on. Not to mention he’s fully aware of us being certain top 4 and don’t want suspensions.

I’ll call it as it is, he’s a fucking cheap shot coward. He knew there would be no repercussions.

Big fella, not playing for keeps. Be a different story if he were.

I didn't hear Parker as I watched on 9 (to avoid him haha) but objectively, we weren't great tonight. Walsh was the difference. We looked like, dare I say it, 2020/2021 Broncos again with no leader. Reyno and Carrigan both out leaves a massive leadership void and that much was obvious.

Technically, the players that filled in did the job. And they did enough - we won. But we didn't win well. Too many errors, too much frantic play, trying to push things that just weren't on...

I don't think we will play the same way next week, but if the criticisms were along the lines of the above, they're absolutely fair.

Just log it away for next time we play them. Canberra we’re trying to get in our face all night just like the Cows and Roosters in recent weeks. It doesn’t work anymore and that is what I’m loving seeing the most. Watching Madden come in first to get into Tapine made my night and shows just how much every player is buying in to this club.

I was there I watched it coming, it was targeted and served no purpose other than to hurt someone.

He may be big on a footy field but he isn’t big when the big boys play without rules.

Shit act. Also a great measure of a person.

We even had a lot of problems with shit going against us tonight too. How often do you see players dropping the ball and players were "hand on the ball" or "crowding". They got away with a fair bit tonight themselves. There was at least one deadset old school shoulder charge not called.

Papalii "HIA" clutching at his ribs to go off for a shot. That's before you go into the dog shots etc. They lack accountability and have a culture of blame shifting. Yes the refs screw things up time and again, but when you've got the captain and coach both sitting there spending time after every loss blaming the refs - that's a club with a culture issue.
I'm stunned that wasn't put on report. Deadset shoulder charge. No attempt to wrap the player. All shoulder. Equally stunned that commentary team didn't pick up on it. It was even shown in slow mo...

Can't help but feel a bit unimpressed. Waited at the buses for 2 hours with a 4 year old on my shoulders. Players were more interested in going to attractive girls.

Like cmon man, a 4 year old just wants some Hi 5's and photos.

Kobe though, machine, come straight over to us.
As a father, I'm really sorry to hear that. Would have made your 4 year olds day.

Yeah, that idiot is a disgrace to the club & I certainly don’t give a rats ass for whatever he blabbers. One salty idiot. Throughout his playing career he was a below average player at best until his twilight years & the idiot is a guru who want to preach now. Ludicrous.

Yeah, we weren’t great with our 2 best players out. It’s Walsh’s vision, try assists & kicking won the game for us.
Hope Kev rests up some guys for our next Thursday game against the cheat grubs.

Watching it live (still have to watch the replay), it seemed like a pretty scrappy win. But coming off a bye, no Reynolds/Carrigan, and with a desperate Raiders it's hardly unexpected.

Can't wait for the finals!
The best part for me was that we handled the ‘decent’ raiders.

The last game I went to was their game against the knights and they were absolutely putrid. No line speed, play of the ball speed, shit all post contact metres. Their slow oaf backs just crab walking across field in attack and slapping in defence.. could go on and on. But tonight they were totally different and Wighton felt pretty hard to deal with at centre. Definitely papalii’s best game for yonks too. Tapine finally had a go. Jock looked a lot better live than on the tele haha.

This screenshot legit made me hard and is one of the reasons we have what it takes to win it all.

This was when we nailed the Walsh field goal. Look at how disguised it is. Jock Madden parked on the left after a good play the ball by Haas feigning a left hand side general play 5th tackle option with Walsh hiding at the back showing no interest in the play and caught everyone off guard.

High IQ play. Moment of the night for me. Cooper Cronk esque IQ play from a 20 year old. We have a special one here ladies and gents. A Lockyer Slater hybrid.
Moments later Madden would throw up his hands at Smoothy for not getting the ball. Walsh called an audible and noone knew it was on. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure Walsh was back there retrieving care from the trainer on the play before. If that was all planned, then he is an absolute genius. Fake an injury to get into position for a FG.

It was a great play, but only Walsh knew it was on, I'm pretty sure it was pure instinct.

Agreed....no need for any uproar.

They actually laughed about it..... even so far as saying he deserved it.
I was laughing so hard seeing Walsh get launched. Initially, I was like woah, wtf was that, then on the replay it was pretty funny. Different story if he was injured from it, but he was begging for it, and Tapine gave it to him. If Walsh had done a Manu and faked it, then somehow scores, it would have broken the BHQ server.

We did get 3 50/50 calls in critical situations to our way last night (not talking about the escort one as one of them).

Ricky whinges and bitches and moans about everything to the point where you don’t even listen to him anymore and it creates a culture of blaming others and lack of accountability in the playing group.
Learn from this.

20/21 Broncos would have lost that game after halftime by 40 points.
Not even close to the same side as back then bro.

For all our errors and faults, i think we defended really well for the most part, and more individual errors let us down than effort or poor play.

The fact we won without Reyno and Carrigan is awesome, and we have shown we can win with any of our star players out.
