POST GAME [Round 26, 2023] Broncos vs Raiders

Oh no, some players walked past everyone (haven't named because I don't mean to hammer them, I get they're tired and wanna go home).

Probably a few hundred, my main issue was the players were more interested in talking to girls than taking a photo for a little kid who's stayed up until 10:30 to see broncos players.
I recommend taking the kids down to a training run or some thing other than after the game. You don’t get the groupies and the boys have more time. If you can contact the club before they go to Canberra next time ask where they’ll be.

Great idea.

I don't actually recall the Staggs hit on Rapana ... so can someone compare it to the JWH shot that will only cop a fine.

The raiders got a number of shit calls in a row the 2nd half. The rapana one was not one of them but who cares. Until a coach comes into the press conference and says we were real lucky to win tonight because we got alot of favourable calls then I can't take their whinging seriously. It usually comes around in your favour some way. Even the Warriors are getting a better go of it this year. You make your own luck through not having excuses.

The Tigers got reamed against the Raiders when they played. Didn't here Stuart whinging there. They had the easiest draw officially at the start of the year. Thank your lucky stars you are in the 8 with that for and against.

From the replays it looked like he didn't connect with his head but rather Rapana's chest -but Staggs will be screwed over anyway, its just a matter of how long.

Watch both press conferences and can be summed up as follows:
Broncos - played well but errors didn’t help, other team gutsy and played tough, well balanced team with coverage as evident without Reyno and Patty.
Canberra - Wah Wah Wah, all the refs fault, conspiracy against us, Wah Wah Wah Wah, refs stupid and hate only us, Wah Wah Wah - it’s passed my bedtime.
Sounds like half the posters and a couple of threads on this site!

We had Reyno and Carrigan last time we played the Raiders, played awful and lost 20-14. I genuinely don't think they'd have made much difference.

We're a team that wants a fast flowing game and the Raiders only know how to play stop start grubby footy which puts us off and we still would have won 37-18 if Staggs had his kicking boots.

The Raiders got plenty of other calls, they had arms around the ball and slowing the play the ball all night which was not penalised.

As well as the strip on Billy Walters right after the set restart call that we received no benefit from.

Moments later Madden would throw up his hands at Smoothy for not getting the ball. Walsh called an audible and noone knew it was on. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure Walsh was back there retrieving care from the trainer on the play before. If that was all planned, then he is an absolute genius. Fake an injury to get into position for a FG.

It was a great play, but only Walsh knew it was on, I'm pretty sure it was pure instinct.
Walsh was spewing for a good 3 minutes before. Violent laser spewing and all in ricky Stuart’s direction. And metres from him

Watching it live I didnt think they did. That's how the set restart rule works though. Like I said the game pays you back at other times. I remember the Bulldogs game and Tigers game they got a very good whistle. Even then they were still better. The broncos were better last night. If Staggs kicks even remotely straight it's not even that close.

But that's not how it worked when the Raiders were attacking our line, Raiders just received a set restart they tried to offload immediately after but Billy hit the ball back to us and then Adam Gee blew the penalty against us.

Yeh..a gutsy win albeit we almost beat ourselves with poor discipline and no patience ( read leadership)
Individual brillance got us home this time. Just hope injuries and possible suspensions don’t fu…k things up .
The win also gives us the luxury of resting players and at worst playing #3 team (NZ?) .will be interesting to see what Kev does and who is fit and available.

Because it was a 10m 6 again... Walters strip one was for an infringement in the play the ball or marker I believe

Mal and Parker trying to talk it up as the worst thing since Dahmer.

Across the chest

Staggs dropped a forearm into Rapana on the ground after he had passed the ball .
I think it hit Rapana on the chest . Comentators saying head . MRC verdict coming up .
Could be the old no white thingy rule ?
