At least the shit bag has finally admitted it. The silence up until that point had me thinking the club gagged him until they could do their own investigation and see if there was a way for him to get off. Now that there is enough evidence to show probability, they've realised they have no chance and have put up the white flag.

Considering how remorseless he actually appears to be (despite publicly saying he's sorry) I was kind of looking forward to seeing him get dragged over the coals for it, it's what he deserves. But him admitting it and apologising is, all things considered, the best scenario for Ezra, and for everyone to move on.

Sydney media finding ways to praise a Sydney team

Mild Shock GIF

Gould would know him etc when he was at the Panthers.

So he is protecting him.

I wonder how happy Spencer is with his brother right now

Isn't it funny that only after he told Read it was all "fun and games" ... And only after he bailed up Mam and the Broncos in the hotel ... And only after the Roosters bosses looked at the situation and told him he was fucked ...

Only after all if that does he put his hand up and try to take the high ground
As soon as the video footage of him clearly saying it and multiple players responding at that exact moment hit the media, and he could no longer deny saying it, has the club told him to "put his hand up".

Exact same response to tedesco's incident.

Hats off to the Roosters organisation.. They could've gone the denial route in the name of defending their player but they've at least made him own it and cop the whack.

IMO there should be more of this from all NRL clubs, ie honesty and making players own their mistakes - like the Broncos did with Carrigan and Reynolds a couple of weeks ago.

Ultimately, it will benefit their players, as people.

So you expecting no punishment and Australian captaincy and endless puff pieces about how good a bloke he is as well then?

Look I can't stand the Roosters but there is no denying they are a very well run club.

When the vision of Billy Walters chasing him came to light, they knew the gig was up.

I would say they saw the footage on Fittler and Johns' show and went...ah...yep you aren't getting away with it mate, let's damage control.
And you just no when rorters officials were grilling Spencer on whether he said it or not he would've been saying "No way... I didn't say shit"

If he'd owned up to it straight away rorters would've issued their statement straight after getting back from Vegas (to avoid the airport questions)... it's been several days since then and only now after the footage has finally been found have they gone... "ah yeah we're fucked".

Frustrating thing is how bullshit the media has been with it... they were hunting down footage and captions of Reece within hours of the incident... this one has been gag orders all round for ages

If spectators can get life bans for racist remarks, he can get the season.
Interesting point. I don't think he should cop a hugely harsh punishment, but plenty of places would sack you for it.

Please ... If the Roosters intent was as you described, this would have happened days ago .... They realised Leniu was toast, so changed tact to try and reduce his suspension

Ezra will probably come out and say he accepts the apology and is grateful for it, time for everyone to move on now.

He is more humble, gracious and classy then I could ever be.

I won't be forgetting this ****.

His statement means nothing to me. He refused to have empathy in the aftermath of the incident.. but he wants mercy and empathy now?

No.

Much interest.. and a million eyes on Peter.

12 months, minimum.

To be honest the punishment will most likely be 6-8 weeks but the real issue is if he went after the players in the motel that should automatically double the suspension for trying to intimidate players. That shit just isn't on regardless of what was said on the field.

No I mean the club's response was the same way they responded to tedesco's. No action themselves until the evidence is out in the media and then come out with an admission.

Enough high profile people have expressed opinion on this incident that there will be a punishment but the same old X amount of weeks, with "player education. Etc.

I think the opposite, the Roosters failed him on Saturday night. He should never have done an interview. The Roosters media should have taken him straight off that field. I know the usual rule is players on report don't do media. That's the Broncos rule.
