Because merely an assistant coach won`t be enough to work out who is gettin the ball when .
3 very big voices all calling for the ball because they see opportunities its gonna take some very smart assistant coaches to work that out .
I have been talking about this for the last cpl of weeks .
Hunt playing left side is gonna take some adjustments .

Can the development list players be used if required? What's the general rule? Perham could be handy when Walsh is playing Origin.

Yep development deal players can be used whenever.
train and trial from round 11 onwards though... before round 11 the club has to get permission from the NRL to use a train and trial player

Can I just say I hate the current system.
The whole point of including a development squad was for transparency and to help streamline the second tier cap situation. Instead of limiting clubs to 36 players and only granting them exemptions under special circumstances, you have clubs like Canterbury picking randoms from NSW Cup purely on a whim.
I'm not saying Canterbury are cheating here, but just make it more transparent like the NFL. Introduce an inactive squad so we can see players get demoted/promoted and let's keep these players details updated and accessible.
Right now, there should be an official list of every train and trial player and updates on those players.
While I'm ranting and raving, I'm still annoyed that Kevie didn't have the fore-sight to include a couple of train and trial players against the Dragons. Didn't cover all his bases and exposed himself in the process.

Development sounds like they're meant to be young, but they're just whoever. I think we had TMM on a development deal. Seggy was on a DD when he first arrived as well wasn't he (can remember something about him being paid $75k).
And train and trials is just weird phrasing as well... they're T&T for the preseason, but what are they trialing when the season starts.
It's definitely an untapped market for NRL teams from round 11 onwards though... there doesn't seem to be any structure with it and they can just call up whoever for match payments.
Kevvie definitely should've brought someone in against dragons... did we play all 4 hookers in that game?? Two of them on the bench or something.
Should've just found a guy that is performing the best in Qcup and give them a shot.
