This fear mongering from the media only pops up when we are winning funnily enough...I'd be having a chat with Madden and if he's in the future plans offer him a chance to go play in England for a year and come back.
And If I'm the guys off contract I'm getting together and talking, if we want to be winning the premiership next year our best chance is with Reynolds in the team so just for that year we need to take a little less.
I'm sure Reynolds will probably take a little less than what's he's on ATM
Smoothy leaving, add in baker, hoeter, tapau and all on slight above minimum, with reynolds getting a 100,000 knocked off and you have 500,000 straight away after paying min wage replacements, with that you can pay for mozer and haas upgrades. Staggs, hethrington and cobbo will be on the same given they were over paid last contracts. Anderson would be a mid contract at most (400,000), that's where a deal like maddens might come in. Yes the above players need to be replaced by minimum wage, but that's where our development benefits us. Beni Allen, semu, jett bryce, maybe innes by the sounds of it, bukowski, most of them should be in a position to fill the back end of a squad by then with a year or 2 of qld cup under their belt. Maybe pack it up with 1 or 2 journey men.
Players like jensen might be someone we lose given he deserves a pay upgrade but isn't a priority. Israel leota might leave as he'd be expecting a pay upgrade given his age and physical "potential" but the club should not give it from what he's shown, however some other club will due to his physical potential. That's 6 potentially leaving, none of which would be on minimum wage.
