PLAYER Ezra Mam

Let's not forget payne was being harassed by the cops for something he had nothing to do with.

Am I missing something with this photo incident? This is the first time i’ve heard this, when did this happen? And what happened?

Can’t believe i never knew about this
Staggs had two incidents in 2021:
- the first was in February and was fined $10,000 for using a homophobic slur towards a patron at a pub in Dubbo. Staggs allegedly called a member of the public a homophobic slur after the fan asked to take a photo. He was not charged over the incident, however two of his friends subsequently pled guilty to assault charges (a fight ensured due to the use of the slur).
- the second was a two-match suspension and a $20,000 fine from the NRL for a drunken incident at a Brisbane pub in April. He was accused of making unwanted advances towards a woman at a Brisbane pub over the Easter long weekend. He was not charged by police but after an investigation, including sourcing CCTV vision, the NRL's integrity unit found Staggs engaged in 'disreputable conduct'.

The Broncos basically told him - get off the drink, or we'll tear up your contract.

I'm pretty sure there were witnesses at the pub who confirmed it, it was in the court documents. He obviously used a different slur but you get the idea, i just sanitised it because i didnt want to post it on here. It was never argued he didnt do it either. They did it all in public view so there isnt too much dispute about any of it. The bloke just wanted a picture.

As for Payne, he abused multiple police officers, but he specifically made mention of her being a woman.

"Cause you're a woman? Cause you're a woman and you think that I won't touch ya?"

That shows he would have had no issues hitting a woman, police or not. Thats something i just cant tolerate. But thats just my opinion, not everyone has the same way of thinking i do and thats fair enough.

I dont disagree with your point either about people making mistakes, they do and they need to learn from them, which Payne and Kotoni seem to have done. You still have to pay for serious mistakes, and i think they got off lightly for theirs. My initial point was more lesser players would have got the boot for the same thing.
Technically, Haas didnt say he would touch her. He said she is only looking at him like that because she thinks he won’t.

Defending it is pretty ****ing shit, no matter how he said it. It was a threat and I’m judging every single one of you for thinking there’s an excuse for it.

Sorry I’m sick and tired of seeing shit posted everywhere about Mam. Get over it, it was not him that gave him his own punishment, he has done his time what he was handed down and has worked on becoming a better person. People just keep bringing it up and booing take a look at yourselves have yous ever made a mistake in life do we grill you??.

People are only claiming that because the media keep saying that he should've been banned for the year... which would be ridiculous...

I can't think of too many suspensions longer than what Ezra copped... Pearce copped 8 weeks and $125k fine ($50k suspended) for the infamous dog incident on Anzac Day.

Ezra 9 weeks and $90k (none suspended)... have there been any punishments handed down for more?
I mean you made a comparison in this post that makes Ezra’s punishment look lenient…. Simulating a thrusting movement is 8 weeks but causing a head on accident with drugs in his system unlicenced is only 9? Doesn’t compute

Facebook is the worst for it. Even things that don’t involve him.

STFU Buzz. Seriously stfu.

The way he dogging Ezra is just disgusting.
And he lied... said he had alcohol in his system, which he didn't.

The Sydney media keep pushing the narrative and keep lying about it, but never get pulled up on it... because they've been intentionally mis-reporting since the start.

Maybe mam should lawyer up to stop the misrepresenting bs. Surely can't publish straight out lies when so easy to check against court proceedings. Call these ****s out

It’s the sydney media that keep pushing fans away from League. No integrity. None. I’ll still watch every game .. but nswmedia .. so fkn over it. Arrogant f*******.

Absolutely yes. I would request a public retraction and apology, and a cease and desist and request that every comment going forward includes the findings, inclusive of the lesser charge rather than their constant misrepresentation of the facts & insinuating that it was a DUI.
