I'm going to make up a rumour.

Patty said he, Gibasaki and Su'A were really good mates coming through the Broncs' system...so Patty to get in Su'A's ear to bring him home too?
True story: Ponga, Croft and Su'a were good mates at Churchie where they starred in the 2014 GPS Rugby premiership team.

So maybe Broncos' old-boy Croft to get in Ponga and Su'a's ears about all coming back to Brisbane on massive unders.

After watching Marty Tupou on the Kevie Podcast, I'm actually annoyed we got rid of him for such a stupid reason. - Wrong thread.

Kobe Hetherington’s agent, Chris Haddad:

"I’ve been in talks with the Broncos and they have indicated we will have a formal offer by the end of this week. They have got Adam Reynolds’ retention out of the road, so we will move forward now with Kobe. I’ve asked them for a three-year deal ... we’ll see what happens. We’ve got no other interest at the moment, I haven’t been out looking at the market because Kobe’s been very settled with his football at the Broncos and that’s the priority at the moment.”
“Kobe was close to leaving last year. He had some interest from the Tigers and Dragons but we met with ‘Madge’ and he said just give me 12 months to work with Kobe and see how he goes. Kobe has been great the whole year and he was excellent off the bench for the Broncos last week, he made a really important run which lifted the whole team. The Broncos are very happy with his form, he’s got a very important role in their 17."
“I don’t think he’s had a bad game this year so his consistency has been very good. Kobe is a bloke who gives 100 per cent every week. He is someone who tackles all day, you have to have him in your side ... why wouldn’t the Broncos want to keep him?”

Kobe is a great bit player. I know Madge had higher aspirations for him but really, he’s a small body forward who’s best attributes are being fresh legs around tired forwards and chopping blokes in half.

He’s a set and forget benchy and if he’s happy to stick around on a contract that reflects that then I have no issues.

I like Kobe and appreciate the way he plays. Just need to get the value right. 2 years probably make me more comfortable but give him $300k for 3 and I’m not upset

I agree 100% get him to come when the defence is tiring like in the warriors game. But he would surely be taking a pay cut or less pay to stay. No one else would want him and he wants to stay.

3yr from the manager... the club will likely negotiate down from that... but if he wants 3yr at a modest contract then probably alright.

He's the kind of player that the club will give a role to after he retires... like Jack Reed being part of pathways systems.

Kobe needs to realise he's not a starter with us, but he's a benchie... and for **** sake can we get him to learn how to be a second rower.

He probably has the traits where that would be his best position... cuts blokes in half with his defence (players would fear running out there) and he's got great footwork to get between tacklers so likely runs a good line... also good with an offload when he makes a halfbreak with his hands free.

If he can learn second row he's an automatic selection in the 17 jersey for basically as long as he wants... and with our current second row he could push for the starting spot over someone like Riki

High Five I Got You GIF by TJ Jackson

Our FB stocks are getting pretty low with Cobbo going. Now Seigwalt? Wtf
Seigwalt only got attention because his first name was Latrell.

He was signed on a train and trial deal... and realistically he only ever got a mention because Hayze Perham done his knee in his first 40mins of a trial game.

The club is likely on the look out for back up fullbacks

Perham might get another year on a dev deal to see how he goes after the knee reco.

Innes is coming through as a young guy that plays fullback as well and played in the first trial on the wing.. he's only like 18, but likely on a dev deal next year.

I think 1910 might've mentioned that he's played some Qcup games, but he's finished Meninga for the year, and might get some Qcup games at the backend of the year... will likely be part of the preseason at the end of the year so probably start getting some exposure with the other Top 30 guys.

It's this year that is the problem... and was always going to be the problem as soon as Perham went down.

Cobbo has been our only backup fullback over the entire year... that's shit roster management to be honest

Daily Tele article tonight saying Hetherington's manager is seeking $1.5 mill over the 3 years.

Seems a bit of wishful thinking on his behalf.

If that's what is being reported then that's what his manager wants put out there... and it's likely what Kobe wants plus some extra on top.

His manager will know thats the starting point and the broncos will come under that and then they will settle somewhere in the middle.

Also have to factor in that the new CBA is coming in 2027 or so, and that's going to bump up the salary cap... $500k is above what his manager thinks he can actually get, so he should come in at a pretty decent deal

Yeah issue with resigning Hetho is he is already on more than he deserves and he won’t be putting his hand up to be on less. He has played well the last couple weeks but he can get the **** out if he wants north of 400k

The unfortunate fact for kobe is that his skill set isn't something that you could not get from a player at a cheaper cost.

The CM reporting that JD sacked Karapani at Souths two years ago for being late to training and missing a video review session. as far as i can tell from the reporting is was a single offence from Karapani that got him sacked.

his manager says:

“He was at Souths and had a little misdemeanour,” said his manager Matt Desira.

“Josiah turned up late to training, unfortunately missed a whole review session and he was told to move on.”
