2026 NRL General Discussion Thread

Yeah Aus team is basically chuck it in cruise control and they coach themselves.

Although some tougher questions might be coming.

Media seems to be claiming Haas and Tino are heading over to Samoa for the next world cup.

Suddenly the Aus forward pack isn't as strong... and they'll be coming up against opposition forward packs with Haas, Tino, AFB, JFH, etc.

We'll have guys like Patty and Yeo, but a lot of the top forwards at the moment seem to be playing origin, but playing elsewhere at the international stage.

Interesting discussion that would be if the islander boys all pick to play for other sides so you have no Haas, Crichton, To'o, Tino, Nanai or Hammer available for Aus.

I think whoever the next Aussie coach is needs to look at why this is happening though and try and put pride back into representing Aus. Don't get me wrong, I love that the international game is getting stronger but so many players don't seem to want to play for Aus, so why is that? Is it simply because of the cultural / family pull or is there more to it? Why are they identifying more with countries they have either A. never stepped foot in or B. spent a short time there instead of where they have grown up?

Anywho, let's just assume everyone is fit, I think a pacifika less side looks something like:

1. Edwards
2. Coates
3. Mitchell/TTurbo (if Mitchell is injured)
4. Shibasaki/TTurbo
5. Lomax
6. Munster
7. Dearden
8. Smith (Barnett is out due to ACL)
9. Grant
10. Carrigan
11. Young
12. Martin
13. Yeo

14. Cleary / Burton
15. Cotter
16. Collins
17. Mann

Something like that. I'm sure I've forgotten some.

Colour me surprised that Crawley is spruiking the line that a club coach should be allowed to coach the Kangaroos. Uncle Wayne must be very pleased.

Braith Anasta is so unprofessional just telling everyone publicly about the clause he had put in Pezet's contract. spending 5 minutes trying to sell his client

What a surprise it was ‘Marto’ delivering the offensive punchline again... a few years ago at the height Anthony Seibold’s struggles in Brisbane he derogatively referred to him as ‘the German’ on air .. he’s got that real private school bully mentality that some clearly don’t grow out of 🙄

I’m no fan of the old guy but what a weird fcuk thing to do? Seriously. It’s preposterous that such imbeciles think that they can talk whatever they want. Disgusting.

One more reason for Brisbane based folks to NOT care about that shit show.

“The segment ended with Margaux’s inappropriate question: “How big are Dale’s boobs Wayne?”

Can’t understand this question, especially coming from a female, about another female.

What a letdown for women everywhere.

Margaux comes across as a bit of a grub tbh.

The National Rugby League (NRL) has issued show cause notices to Accredited Player Agents Nash Dawson and Chris Orr for alleged breaches of the Accredited Agent Scheme Rules.

The NRL has proposed a nine-month suspension and $15,000 fine for Dawson, and a six-month suspension and $10,000 fine for Orr.

The notices allege that both agents have breached the NRL Accredited Agent Scheme Rules and the Accredited Agents’ Code of Conduct following a physical altercation between the agents at the Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Championships in 2024.

It is also alleged the agents failed to co-operate with the NRL Integrity Unit.

Under the Accredited Agents’ Code of Conduct, Accredited Agents are required to operate with high personal and professional standards.

Both agents have five business days to respond to the show cause notices.

Like it matters... these guys can do anything they want and these show cause notices and "suspensions" have no teeth to actually impact things.

Hasn't Orr already had one of these?

I daresay the player managers have the NRL by the balls with the amount of shit they could leak from the wheeling and dealing they do with clubs and players, that it would destroy whatever integrity of the salary cap there is meant to be and potentially cause irreparable damage to the NRL... the game would live on and be rebuilt, but the NRL and Sydney head honchos would be mud

Ezra, Arthars, Bryce, Perham, Riki, Walsh and Willison all Dawson.
Cobbo, Madden, Rogers, Smoothy- Chris Orr.

An entitled, spoilt brat of a woman she is.
She lives in her own fantasy world where she thinks that her moron husband is a rugby league royalty. Perfect pair of 2 mindless idiots.

For mine though, that moron is one of 5 players who could’ve stopped JT from spreading the ball right to Morgan in that dreaded 2015 GF. He thinks very high of himself. Obnoxious self praising idiot.
