Anyone know where Duffy will play in QCup? Assuming he'll go to WM with Madden back to Tiges

They meet in the off season and see what they need and where they're suited. Bears have Rogers and Hamiliton, Souths have Black and Milford, Wynnum have a hole there.

Comes down to coaching too- Hunt, Burt and Head. I’ve been impressed with Burt this year. He seems to instil such a confidence in Mariner, Karapani and Arthars. None of those guys would have reached Burt full of happiness or confidence and Burt had them back.

Reynolds seems to have done well for himself, early on he was just a kicking bot. Obviously at his age his kicking is his strength but it's been that way his entire career.

Cpl of things . 1 he`s probably not capable of straightening and busting the line like he could a few years back .
2 his short kicks don`t automatically equal a repeat set anymore .

I don't see line breaks and tackle breaks as that important for a 7, if your half is engaging defenders and pulling them out of the line with his running then I am happy.

He forced line drop outs, he scored tries he had off-loads so he's on your screen with the ball.

If you take Duffy as a "7 of the year" benchmark and see where Black is currently at you see a big difference.

Duffy 24 v Black 25
Games 22/16
Won 18/7
Tries 5/1
Drop outs 10/4
Try assists 33/8
Touched the ball- 907/658
Tackles 407/237
Metres 1485/912

They're three years apart and Black has played 21 Cup games compared to 50 but you can see how much involved and on the ball Duffy is last year and how Black's involvement in games still has a long way to go.
Interesting .

Reynolds looking to be back by the Melbourne game. Cobbo and Mam not looking good to make it back this season.

Reyno has said that if we've secured finals, he won't come back for the Storm game. He'll give himself an extra week and return in the first week of the finals.
That would make sense however, Mam’s is the most intriguing one for mine. Of the 3 that went off the field, he seemed the most likely to return back.

Those are Impressive stats no doubt . But don`t address what I saw .

How many line breaks and tackle busts ? That is the difference between Adam Reynolds and Jerome Hughes . One is a threat the other isn`t .
And? How many premierships have they each won? 1 each. Reyno has been in just as many grand finals as Jahrome in the past 5 years and one is in their prime and the other their twilight years.

Also if you think any player at any level is getting 33 try assists as a one dimensional kick pass player you’re a deadset looney.

I honestly don't know if Madge would want to see the young guys go to a strong team to get close-as-possible-to-NRL experience, or send them to a bleak rugby league gulag where everything sucks and they have to fight like hell to get wins
Is that a bad thing though? If you can go to a gulag and pull wins out your ass like it’s nothing then you are one special player. If you can’t then I’m not sure I want you playing halfback for the Brisbane Broncos.

I don't think it's a bad thing (necessarily). I genuinely don't know what type of prep an NRL coach wants their young guys to have. There's pros and cons for both, maybe it would come down to the player.

This will be a huge decision for Madge. I honestly don't know what he will do if we win the next 3 games and go in to finals in 4th spot.
My guess, if Hunt is killing it and the team is humming, he leaves things as they are.
Ben Hunt redemption story incoming.🤞

Probably the least experienced and didn’t realise as quickly as the others how bad it was.

When you do a hammy, the common reaction - like Reyno’s, is more of a “oh **** oh ****” then a terrible pain.

Reyno just instantly knew how serious it was. Ezra probably thought he could run out a 6 week injury

If this happens, and I f**king hope it does, I will get Ben Hunt's name tattooed on my arse cheek
