NRLW NRLW Brisbane Broncos Discussion

NRL Reddit is going to go off.

As much as I’m not keen on it, **** it’s going to be so funny

I think she'll do really well with this squad.

And yeah the meltdown is going to be hilarious.. Even though we're losing Broughton next season and Brigginshaw the year after.

They were talking signings yesterday on SEN and Joel mentioned it as a possibility. Fletch was like "What? How does that work? So the rich get richer and poor get poorer eh?" Didn't the Roosters go on a mass spending spree in the NRLW a few years back or am I misremembering?

No you are remembering. I'm pretty sure they picked up three Aussie reps from us, 1 from St George and one or two from elsewhere.

2023 season they signed Tarryn Aiken, Amber Hall, Keeley Davis and Millie Boyle, amongst others.

People have very short memories.

Knights fans are having a temper tantrum, but they fail to remember that most of their teams since 2021 inception have been a hodgepodge of players that are mostly now North Queensland or Sydney team players, and only moved because they were a new club so positions and money was available.

Sure we grabbed Romy and Tamika back, but they were ours first. Like how they got a lot of their local players back in the last couple of years.

We also got 2008 Bulldogs-ed after our first year, losing the Breayley-Natis, Fetu-Moala, Feterika, and Arukua to St George and Tallisha Harden to the Roosters.

If I was a Knights fan, I’d be more upset that the club has Ben Jeffries employed more than any gain/loss of a player

Yeah rorters were pretty well useless at the start of the NRLW comp and then they went away and bought a comp

The next step of this is it will get (more) mainstream coverage because of Joey, and will continue the pile on from the wider league fan base, because Broncos bad.

I feel like if you lose the Dally M five-eighth of the year, you can replace them with someone not quite on their level and it shouldn't be an issue.

Yep. But the bRoNcOs.....

If she ends up at the Roosters, it's truly a joke. Tarryn might be out for the year but she's still on the books alongside Baxter and Kelleher.

Yep no one seemed to give a shit when Newcastle took Tamika and Millie from us and then walked into premierships.

All of a sudden it was like Newcastle had discovered Tamika and turned her into the player she always has been.

I do wonder what the narrative would be, roles reversed. We sign Tamika and Millie from them and win a premiership or two and then they resign them? Probably just "righting a wrong" or some lame ass shit. Upton was ours first and wanted to return, get over it flogs.

Well, Keilee's gone.

Yuck, the Cherringtons.

Puts a real downer on things to announce the day after a premiership win

Gayle and possibly Mele have been assumed since the Warriors were reinstated, so to see announcements (or likely) for them was expected, but this one just sucks

That's a strange one. I thought she left the Roosters because she wanted to be back in Brisbane.

I wonder if Sauaso is going to be the lock moving forward, or perhaps Prince will go with Spready.
