So bad. Refs will only pick up on this when playing for Brisbane. He is completely out of play in that first try, how did the ref miss that
We keep getting left second rowers. We need a right second rower so Riki has competition. He really needs to improve his line running and be more of a threat
The NRL announced that:
“The commission has a clear duty to act in the best interests of rugby league and its fans – and we will take all necessary steps to protect the future of the game,” ARLC chairman Peter V’landys said.
- Any NRL player who negotiates, signs, or enters into a letter of intent, playing contract, or any other form of agreement – whether verbal or written – with a football competition, league, or organisation not recognised by the Australian Rugby League Commission as a national sporting federation, will be banned from participation in the NRL and any ARLC-sanctioned competitions for a period of 10 years.
- Any NRL accredited player agent who acts for, assists, represents, or advises a player in any capacity in relation to dealings with, or the signing of, a letter of intent or playing contract with a football competition that is not recognised by the ARLC as a national sporting federation, will be subject to the same 10-year ban from NRL-related activities, including accreditation renewal.
- The ARLC retains sole and absolute discretion to review or lift a ban imposed under this provision only in exceptionally extenuating circumstances, to be determined on a case-by-case basis.
“Unfortunately, there will always be organisations that seek to pirate our game for potential financial gain. They don’t invest in pathways or the development of players – they simply exploit the hard work of others, putting players at risk of financial loss while profiting themselves. They are, in reality, counterfeiting a code.
“Accordingly if it all goes wrong it’s the players who suffer most. Every stakeholder must be accountable to the standards our fans expect. We’ve listened to our clubs, and we’ve acted decisively.”

If you had 2 braincells between your ears you would have seen a number of posts congratulating and lauding the broncs and particularly Reece Walsh on that Sunday night.Just on the cowboys... has anyone heard from @JayPee? Given he was so obsessed with hoping we'd lose that he came onto this site instead of his clubs, Im sure he is probably in a bit of a bad spot.... hope you're going ok mate.
Mr Dearden hates Todd.... and I have been accused of being a Todd defender so thats a swing and a miss.I'm ninety percent sure that @JayPee is Mr Dearden on the Cowboys forum. He lives down this way so it lines up.

He's probably also taking a break since footy is over for now but I hope he's back for the Internationals.
On the flip side he may sign and never come back…I never saw Haas heading to R360 ... but after the NRL's announcement today, I really don't see him risking it.
Haas and his manager reportedly cancelled a video conference with R360 officials last week until they were able to get official confirmation from the NRL on what his obligations to the NRL where given he isn't a rugby league free agent until Nov 1
Probably, but wouldn't he have to start playing straight after our season finished if it becomes a thing? Taking a big risk with his health/body on that alone. He’d be a dead set weapon in that sport as well
"contract with a football competition that is not recognised by the ARLC as a national sporting federation"Coming out and saying this specifically for R360 when players have been able to sign for rugby in the past means they’re actually worried about it.
I agree. Their model is to have a rugby competition in non traditional markets. Nobody cares about the new team. For example does anyone here have an IPL team they cheer for? I don't and part of why I find IPL not something I prioritise watching. IPL works because it's in a cricket mad nation with a huge population."contract with a football competition that is not recognised by the ARLC as a national sporting federation"
I read this as standard Ruggers national comps to be all good, isn't R360 just random teams with no location or country?
If this is the case, R360 will likely fall over before it becomes anything. Footy is a team sport driven by "tribalism", unlike golf/boxing/MMA. Any manager or player would be crazy to knock back some of the reported coin, even for a couple of seasons. But, surely the coin made by someone like Haas over his career at a club like ours would be worth way more than the reported $10M AUD for 2 seasons.
The reverse Dearden ( Cowgirl)So how well does Duffy go? He going to be another Jensen for us? Another player that those useless shitstain cowgirls couldn't get the best out of?
The Qcup regulars will be able to answer better than me, but I'd say he looks to have an elite short kicking game and his 2024 qcup to win halfback of the year was apparently pretty dominant with him being the stand-up choice to win it.So how well does Duffy go? So I think he's got the fundamental skills as a halfback.
I think his issue at cows was defence (he's got a slight build) and his long kicking may not be as long as you'd like (from memory but haven't seen enough of his game to remember).
I feel like both of those items get better over time as you do more preseasons and do more weights, etc.
Reyno isn't exactly built or putting shots on, but his tackle efficiency is like 90% over the course of his career... so Duffy will have a great mentor to learn from if defence and long kicking are his biggest things to fix
A halfback must have a good long kicking game. Can't have Walsh doing everything.I don't think that Duffy not having a good long kicking game would be an issue for him while he is with us ... Because we have Walsh who does have a big boot on him
