The first deletion was an accident, and when I went to reinstate the post, I was doing what I thought was replying back to the thread again but idk just kept reverting back to a new deleted post. Really weird.

Huge chance for the Broncos to really stand up now and show their resilience.

Let’s see how they react to the unexpected.

I hope that the loss of Payne doesn’t linger over the squad all season.

Yea, it hurts tho. I said last week that I didn’t want this season to start lol. I am a big Payne fan, so yea this one cuts deep.
 
If the moneys the same in south sydney as it is brisbane there's a lot I don't understand. Cost of moving family, increased cost of living, cost of moving to a seriously shit team without a 7.

From what I understand he's not a massive draw for third party agreements

Clearly somethings taking him to the rabbits. If its not money, opportunity or legacy i'm kinda ****ed if i know.

Probably his wife/partner wanting to be closer to family support down there.

Get out clause for R360
 
Disappointing to lose a player of Haas's calibre but we've won plenty of the games we've been without him over the last couple of years.

If there was ever a time to lose a player like Haas, it is now. We are currently in a really good position as a club and well enough equipped to cover his loss. We'll be fine.

I dont get the appeal with him now to players. He's a players coach, looks out for them and all that but he hasn't got a team to finals since for 5 years and hasn't won a premiership for FIFTEEN YEARS. He might get 1 good season out of his team through "playing for the coach/motivation" but the game has passed him by, he will need some forward thinking assistants he listens to and respects to drag him to wins over coaches like bellamy and cleary.
 
It still doesn't make sense that the reason he signed with Souths was due to them giving him R360 get out clauses. If that was the reason, he would/could have signed 1 year deals with us.

He wanted his cake and to eat it too. A 3 year deal but the ability to walk out on it if R360 happened. We weren't keen on that.

TBH if the clause was all that got him there we should be putting it in. It’s Payne we are talking about. And 1.2m isn’t overs for him. There’s more to this me thinks.
There is probably a 5% chance it even gets off the ground.
