I would usually hate to so reactionary, but its 2 bad losses at home to start the season, and some of the performances have been bad enough that imo they do warrant dropping already.

Left edge needs fresh bodies, so someone else in 2RF and Shiba has to have a spell. His reads and first contact were shambles. Ezra not much better but Id go the other 2 first, especially Shiba when we have Anderson.

Both hookers tonight, just not good enough at all. Hunt was better of the 2 but really its not much. Might see a forced change in this rotation if Reyno is out.

Speaking of Reyno, he wasn't moving well the whole game, and maybe its just me his long kick has regressed incredibly. It was never 'long long' but he just seems to be struggling with something.

Super disappointing night again.

  • That left side was pathetic on defence, especially Mam. Dude gave zero effort on defence
  • Poor attitude all round. We don't wrestle and give up quick play the balls, and on attack we take our damn time getting up and playing it
  • We have the absolute worst starting backrow in the comp. Riki is terrible, but HOLY I don't know what Gosi has on Madge to get him selected. Jaiyden Hunt can't be any worse than Gosi
  • I'm all for dropping Mariner and letting Arthars/Anderson have a crack. Deine straight up avoided any work tonight. Him and Shibasaki were damn near averaging 20 runs per game at the backend of last season. Tonight they only had 7 and 10 runs. Making our middles take all the runs coming out of our 20, and they wonder why the middle is soft defensively
  • Shibasaki looks unfit out there. Was struggling to make the 10 most of the 2nd half

Halfback, hooker and 1 x 2nd Row are bottom four standard. It’s going to be a long season.

Reynolds in those post match pressers is unwatchable. It’s the same every week from him.
Also, I have concerns with him moving into a coaching role as of next year. He just doesn’t look to give a fk.
He’s more interested in selling t-shirts and face masks.

Wow there are some bedsitter in here.
It's not great but its 2 losses.
Funny how some posters are singing from the same hymn sheet as dickhead media types turning on the coach after 2 losses.

It's a stupid rule. I feel like they just change things for the sake of it...
It's shit changes like that which killed Union. No-one cares because no-one can understand the ****ing rules any more.

You want to simplify and streamline the game. Not bring in dubious referee discretion and 'you didn't raise two hands, GOTCHA!' nonsense.

wtf has happened to our defence?
Did teo chuck the towel in, in the offseason?

I feel a cam smith inside job brewing this week.
Storm 110. Broncos 0.
Our defence was 7th last year... so basically average... I don't know what Teo coaches, but listening to them it seems to be all about feels and effort... so just keep scrambling!!!

Cancelled Kayo, as the game is unwatchable now. Blow out after blow out. 6 again 6 again. Dumb rule changes .

Also big **** you to the Billy Walters haters. We need him more then ever.

Kayo is a rort.

Almost cheaper to just get Foxtel.

On reffing, Im really trying this year not to whinge about it, as even though we easily copped the most penalties all last year, we still won the comp, so maybe we did get them at better times like everyone said.

The team that has momentum just seems to get so much leeway, and the team getting pounded just gets done for everything.

And don't get me wrong, you strip back the 8-3 count, 1 is Walsh kicking out on full, 1 is Tawha being an utter moron late in the count, and 1 is forgetting how to pack a scrum. So to me, that's 5-3 and maybe im forgetting a dumb one.

The ones I have real issue with are blockers on kicks reception. We again seem to be done for these week after week, and the same shit at the other end doesn't seem to be given as much.

6 agains.. they are just a momentum feeder really. The play the ball is still a mess. How one team can just walk off mark taking the markers with them, get a quick PTB then run right where the gap is behind markers and then also get a 6 again, whilst the other team trying to break momentum gets told to go back and play the ball. I truly dont get it.

It just feels like we are heading to touch football with these scores and the speed of the game.

End of the day, we conceded the most penalties and won the comp, can't use it as an excuse and we are our own worst enemy on some of them anyways.

It's vlandys masterplan to even all the teams playing field to make for more action and attempt to bring more revenue in. There is going to be a repeat of last year with about 10 teams all on similar ladder points attempting to make the 8 because the players can't keep up with the high fatigue these games cause.
I try to look at it from his perspective.

In his view, more ball in play is better for the game. It provides fans with more bang for their buck and while there are concerns with blow-out scorelines they'll consider alternatives like changing the kick-offs to make the game more balanced.

The problem is you're putting more pressure on the players and coaches. This in turn, leads to rash decisions, which usually leads to a lower standard of play. It's also becoming harder to referee. If captain's challenge has taught us anything, you can find a penalty in just about any play if you search hard enough.

It is only Round 2. I think we have to give these players a grace period (even though the media won't) and accept these Under 20s type scorelines are going to be more common.
