Badel reporting that before we made the decision to go after Reynolds, his manager approached the Titans but they had zero interest in offering Reynolds a contract.
Reynolds Manager Steve Gillis said
“I won’t name the people that we spoke to at the Titans, but we just couldn’t get any interest from them,” Gillis said.
“If we had serious discussions and the Titans were in a position to make a reasonable offer, absolutely Adam could have been a Titan, but it never took off.
“When Souths had said it was a one-year deal, we decided to look at all potential destinations, and the Gold Coast was at the top of the list.
“It was actually before the Broncos were interested.
“Right from the beginning, I said to ‘Reyno’, ‘Where do you want to play?’ He said, ‘Gee, I wouldn’t mind playing for the Gold Coast’.
“He saw a huge lifestyle attraction in the Gold Coast because it was an area he saw his wife and kids enjoying.
“I was keen to have formal discussions, but we never got past first base because they said they weren’t interested.
“I said to them, ‘Adam is dead serious’, but we couldn’t get a bite at all. Nothing … I even offered to throw in a set of steak knives.”
