How many of these are effort plays...?

The things that don't grab the headlines or the TV replays but MEAN everything in a winning team?

A lot of these players are resting on their laurels.

I had a feeling this would be a 1995 or 2007 year for us....

Barnett is still a better player. Apart from one major injury he has been durable. Keon looks like a mummy and he is on more money

Agreed, but 2024 and 2026 (so far) ... we don't look like we are in any form of cohesion though (as a holistic team)

and as many have said, you get the sense 2023 / 2025 was more build off massive momentum from our superstars at the right time of year.... (rather than a 'team' functioning optimally , i.e. panthers/storm)

I guess what I'm saying is... if we keep relying on 'Walsh/Mam' to have 'Jarryd Hayne 09'-esque type of 'runs' to win premierships... it's not a good bet to place.

We need to build proper team cohesion, structures, strategies, mental connections etc. (on the field)

to be honest... I thought we'd be challenging for top 4 every year for the next 5-6 years...
certainly I feel that should be the expectation internally

We have been smashed by injury and lost a few close games to some pretty bullshit ref calls. Our on the line defense was elite until only a couple of weeks ago. Momentum and morale is a really big thing in this game, look at storm for instance and penrith at the start of the year last year. We can definitely wheel it back and at least make half a crack at the top 8 and in finals but so far it looks like it's not our year. A turn around needed to happen this dragons game coming off a bye and then losing to a club on a 15 game losing streak is extremely damaging for morale in the squad, this is where you start getting weird questions asked and strange decisions be made about who or who shouldn't be in the squad or if the coach should get the sack. I think we will be fine but Madge and the group do need to get hold of things by next round or we will be in some trouble. Still a ****ton of games to be played just need to refind our confidence
