Anthony Milford Discussion

The fact that Kent said "Benji was appalled" doesn't categorically state that Benji told him but it does heavily imply it, and is obviously why he said it that way. Now he comes out and innocently claims "I never claimed Benji said it".

The problem here is that it lacks integrity. The proper response from Kent is to say "Yeah, I see how that came out, and it's not what I meant. I meant that I have heard from a third party that Benji was appalled. I am sorry for implying a direct quote from Benji."

Simple as that. A response that people can understand and respect.

Instead we get the holier than thou response that just incites claims of "Liar Liar" back and forth

Yep. Kent won't be getting many more scoops if he is going to hang his "source'' in the shit like he did today. Don't see him flustered often but he had a hard time getting out what he was trying to say tonight. He knew he fucked up dropping Benji in it. Irrelevant of whether it was true or not. Not going to be trusted by many people. Just can't do that as a journo

Got to agree with this... the first rule for a journo is don't give up your source. Not only did he throw Benji under the bus (based on hearsay mind you) but he then proceeded to throw Ikin under the bus 24hrs later despite knowing what the ramifications would be.

How can anyone ever trust him again moving forward knowing that he'll hang them out to dry at the first opportunity.

If Milford was a great trainer he probably wouldn't look like Mr Potato Head

Am I the only person who actually likes Paul Kent? I think he has great knowledge on the game and have always liked the way he comes across.
Sure he did throw Benji and Ikin under the bus which was poor form, but just not sure why all the hate towards him?
I really love NRL 360, better than not having a show and a million times better than The Footy Show.

I do enjoy NRL 360 I just believe it is extremely poor form to come out and draw numerous other people into the argument. He should be smart enough as an experienced journo to know what would have happened. All he had to do was say my sources have informed me that milf is a poor trainer and some players were concerned at his effort during preseason.

Instead he decided to start throwing names out and then continued to throw more names out to save face knowing exactly what would happen. He's also created a story based entirely on hearsay and off the record discussions.

These kinds of acts are completely against the ethics he's meant to have as a journalists and there should be serious discussions about his position, but instead every bottom feeder in Sydney will come out and defend his actions

Kent is way out of line here and is trying to save face.........Very badly

I don't rate him all that highly based on what he has done since joining, but 900k per year with a rising cap next year, is acceptable, if it was something ridiculous like 1.5m I'd be pretty annoyed.

I hope he can live up to his pay, and hopefully we can find a 7 that fits well with him.
What is the Bulldogs half's name? Mbye. He has been offered $900k per season. I would rather pay Milford that then him.

its the worst game of semantics in the world.

"i never said benji told me, i just said he was horrified" - well how else would you know/would you find out? geez mate do you think everyone has turned a trump supporter?

God I wish we'd won that grand final. All of this doesn't happen, Milford is the clive churchill medalist and Wayne cement's his legacy as a bloody legend even further. 30 seconds. FFS.

You just had to bring it up didn't you.

Changing tact for a while, what's everyone's thoughts on whether Milford is better or worse than what JT was at the same age?

Considering the current political climate, I'm worried that is more the case than you would realize.

I remenber Robbie Farah told Tallis Jason Taylor couldn't coach. Tallis threw him under the bus after what was supposed to be a private conversation.

Believe that was Mick Potter he said couldn't coach. Same result though.

And Kent threw Marshall under the bus. Quality journalism these days. If I was a player I wouldn't say a word to the media that I didn't have to. It would be the Darius Boyd yeah nah interview every time.

Different players but Thurston was guilty of trying to do too much back then, same cant be said for milf re: mental side of things.

Milf will never be a thurston but he could be a better benji marshall.
