Also, I think we're still in with the most minute of chances to win. This wicket looks to have fallen apart, and we've got the curse of 87 on our side!
If we take every chance tomorrow, dare to dream...
I think you've summed it up nicely @Sproj.
Unfortunately that means we're no better than 2-3 years ago, when our bowlers were having to dig us out of situations with both bat and ball.
Smith stays consistent as always, whilst every other batsman struggles to make runs.
At least we're heading...
@Big Pete Mbye has had nothing but poor starts. Trading Ennis for him was just bone-headed (thanks hindsight, but I thought it was silly at the time too).
TBH, the sooner Hasler is out, the better for Canterbury. They have lost their way under his coaching, and aside from Barba occasionally...
@Jason Simmons That's the first controversial opinion in the thread, well played!
While I can see where you're coming from, and in some ways I agree with you, i think it's a bit harsh. You need all of those blokes, the clubmen, you can't afford to field a team full of stars.
Those seven guys...
Oh boy. We don't really need another bowling all-rounder, we've had no difficulties taking 20 wickets. It's the batting that's hard over there.
Also, the pitches aren't really lending themselves to big hitting, so I hope he'll be able to settle in and take things slowly.
I am happy that it's...
I went and checked, and was surprised to see that Ennis only played 25 games as starting hooker. It feels like it should have been a lot more.
Also Macca is our most capped starting hooker as of about 11 rounds ago.
I agree, we should kept Ennis around, he was always a favourite of mine too...
We are going to have to bat last though, so we still need another good Starc innings if possible.
Also, every time I see Kohli, he just comes off worse and worse. I hope he gets fined again.
Yeah, credit where it's due. Well done to Smarsh for batting a long and fruitful innings today. With he and Renshaw anchoring the innings at different points, we seem to be very solid.
It's really nice to see that when we lose a wicket, we don't see 3 other quick ones as well.
Broncs looked a bit frosty towards Hunt out there. Didn't seem to be a lot of love when he got the dropout, nor at full time.
Otherwise, we looked solid but not great. I missed the first half, but we looked to be running more directly than last year. Much less dancing around, apart from McGuire.
