Australia v India

1. Renshaw
2. Warner
3. Khawaja
4. Smith
5. Handscomb (Lynn if he can sort his body out)
6. Lehmann
7. Nevill
8. Starc
9. Behrendorff
10. Hazlewood
11. SOK

12. Sayers

Edited with what I'd go with. Patto hasn't been bowling well, and Cummins needs to prove that he's better than Beherendorff and Sayers. I don't know about Handscomb long term, I just don't think he's as good as some of the other young bats in the country, but he's doing a job at the moment and I hope he proves me wrong.

Lyon would have to be the only bowler in history to take 8fa in an innings and finish the match without a 10 wicket haul. His first innings probably saves him for the next five years, unfortunately.

Yeah I like your reasoning there. I've got to admit, I rate Handscomb a lot. He has fight and when the opportunity for spots came up last summer, he stood up head and shoulders above everyone by making a double ton. I'd have him as keeper until someone more capable comes along. Cummins is back and has taken four or five for NSW. He is one of those guys who will be an automatic selection if his body holds up. Patto is a personal favourite of mine but I can certainly understand the argument for Sayers / Behrendorff / Bird / et al. I just think a pace quartet of Hazlewood, Cummins, Starc, Pattinson would be awesome if they were all in full flight.

The issue with Patto is that he has looked a different bowler since remodelling his action (and he can't go back to his original action without injuring himself). Sayers has been bowling extremely well, and would be like Ryan Harris for us: get a few good years out of him, and he'd do a hell of a lot of damage when we next tour England. Dorff's return from injury was out of this world, and he's always been extremely good (FC average of 22).

EDIT: I like Cummins, but we need to be sure that he's the same bowler in the longer form that he was before he got injured, and that he isn't prone to going down fifth over in the day with a match ending injury. My biggest worry is that if Cummins plays we might see more of Mitch Marsh (vomit).

Just in, Mitch marsh has succumbed to a shoulder injury and has flown home, he will not take part in the rest of the series

Oh boy. We don't really need another bowling all-rounder, we've had no difficulties taking 20 wickets. It's the batting that's hard over there.

Also, the pitches aren't really lending themselves to big hitting, so I hope he'll be able to settle in and take things slowly.

I am happy that it's not Maxwell though.

Stoinis is going horribly in shield to be fair, I assume he was selected primarily for his form in the shorter forms recently. Similar to Maxwell.
