10/11 Football Thead

Ning would have been happy with that had we got rid of one of the other 4 strikers we have.

Still fingers crossed the Van Der Vaart deal goes through, though wonder why we need yet another midfielder when it was a TOP quality striker in my opinion we were lacking. Also grabbed another Croat and a 4th keeper

Apparently, Alex Ferguson had an 80's themed party for his Man U players.

Giggs arrived in a Cavalier, Scholes in a Sierra and Rooney chose to come in an Escort.

Ha.

Rooneys gonna be a West ham player next season. The hookers in West London are cheaper than in Manchester icon_thumbs_u

West Ham is in east London champ.

Pretty happy for Darren Bent today, he got his first goal for England. He's the first Sunderland player to score for England since 1954. That's a loooong ass time.

Whoah, that's quite a while.

Surprised Kevin Phillips didn't grab any back in the day.

The Jets survive!

Nathan Tinkler is our new owner. Fantastic news.

Looking at some of the horses he buys, it's no surprise he's dived in here [icon_lol1.

Another miner involved in football, crowd capping no doubt to follow icon_thumbs_u

Good win for Citeh over Chelsea last night, man Tevez is awesome and Ferguson must kick himself knowing he could have kept him! Makes the competition a bit more level now. After that one I switched between Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool all getting outplayed by teams they should be beating easily, it was a very strange night in the EPL!

Uefa president Michel Platini believes goal-line technology would lead to "Playstation football".

Fifa has reopened discussions on the subject but Platini said an assistant behind each goal and greater respect for referees were the solutions.

[eusa_doh [eusa_doh [eusa_doh [eusa_doh Whhhhyyyy do people turn into such retards when it comes to goal line technology?

Ball goes over the line, 4th official alerts the ref, goal given.

WHAT THE **** IS SO FUCKING HARD ABOUT THAT?!?!?!?!

Sorry guys, it's been a long day and I'm feeling temperamental tonight.

IMO If they don't implement it across the board (which they might not), it needs to be used for big games at least. Too much is at stake for the outcome of a game to be swayed by a refs blunder which could be corrected in a matter of seconds.

I agree 100% these are black and white decisions that can be corrected one way or the other in seconds (they don't need to stop the play while it is checked) just go back if the outcome changes. I don't like the idea of it coming in for any other reason than to make sure the ball crosses the line all other decisions should be made by the officials already there, I like the fact the game has a certain sense of traditionalism but this is a no-brainer to me.

I love football, but these days I often find myself asking why.

I really hate football sometimes.

Quiet surprised by that scoreline TBH.

Yeah I am too mate. I had a bad feeling they would be very keen to bounce back after Arsenal flogged them mid week (I HATE playing teams just after they have been thrashed  ) so I figured draw at best... I turned it off at halftime. I'm stressed out enough with exams so I really could do without the football blues atm.

And deadset, you should see the state of the Sunderland message boards [icon_lol1. There must be about 10 new threads every minute and it's kicking off between everyone. Arguments, colourful language, personal insults.... if the admins on here had to moderate that lot I think they would be crying and rocking back and forth in the fetal position [icon_lol1.

We have admins on here [icon_razz1

Maybe Mark Clattenberg is an admin over at the Sunderland boards Scotty, anything can go then [icon_non
