I agree with this lineup.

ditto, looks good.......dont think a UK prop is needed - let mcguire get a run and develop before he too is lured away....

I've been thinking recently that Yow Yeh would make a good fullback. he seems to have decent defence, good foot work and excellent speed. he is also very good under the high ball eusa_think

could be a good idea, and put Kemp on the wing so him and Lockyer can have their combination again.

Fullbacks need to have ball playing skills these days. Even Slater has some (as bad as they are at times). Hunt was the best ball playing fullback in the comp, so he's going to leave a massive hole for us next year. :(

yeh love him as a player but we dont have room for Boyd.

but We dont have room for Michaels.

We have Winter,Yow yeh, Hodges, Izzy, and hopefully Kemp.

backups we have beale, Glenn, Hunt, hoffman

so the line ups above look pretty set in stone ... who else do we have sniffing around for backup etc

has Kemp even been signed yet ?

I like Hoffman, but think we need to just give him 12 straight games and then assess ... cop the good with the bad
McGuire doesn't get a spot in most teams it seems but is still very young
Beale doesn't excite me in the slightest
Michaels will come again
Hunt ... I have no clue really but take you guys word for it

where is our 100k backup type guys (especially in the forwards) ... or is it just kids beyond the above ?

Oink !

i was only listing our backs to show why i believe we dont need Boyd.

Kemp is a hopefull kinda call there.

Fowards, who was the 16 on sunday night in the Under 20's?

Have had a change of heart. I'll pick my team purely on who we KNOW we have signed, so that excludes people like Kemp or any fanciful overseas prop.

1. Hoffman
2. Winterstein
3. Folau
4. Hodges
5. Yow Yeh
6. Lockyer (c)
7. Wallace
8. Kenny
9. McCullough
10. Clinton
11. Glenn
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Sims
15. Te'o
16. Setu/McGuire/Williams
17. B. Hunt

As I've said in other threads, Ben Hunt needs to play in the 17 as often as possible, coming off the bench as a) interchange hooker should McCullough require and b) allowing Lockyer to be rested in games where the result is beyond doubt with 10-15 minutes to go to give Hunt regular experience at five-eighth or halfback.

Plus of course when Lockyer/Wallace are out for Origin or injury, Hunt must be played in the starting halves.

Some might argue that in the modern game you need 4 forwards on the bench, and you have some merit in that. However, the Broncos simply have to keep the future in mind and Hunt is not going to develop his skills and gain the experience necessary to be an NRL quality half by playing Queensland Cup all the time.

Hoffman deserves first shot at fullback, but guys like Copley and Beale will be at his heels, so he'll need to perform. I'm not concerned about him not having KHunt's ball playing abilities at this stage. They will come. He has the skills, he just hasn't developed them yet.

Obviously Steve Michaels is still around as a backup should Folau or Hodges be injured/unavailable, or Winterstein/Yow Yeh fail to perform.

with the team you list there coxy, maybe we dont need to sign anymore fowards.

14. Sims
15. Te'o
16. Setu/McGuire/Williams

Thats 2 guys there nipping at heels to get a run so hopefully thats enough for Teo,Setu and Sims to perform how we know they can.

Yeah but only Sims and maybe McGuire are really capable of playing the real metre eater pig role of Kenny/Clinton. Having another prop might help, particularly given Sims' tendency to be either very good or very shit.

Certainly need a prop or 2 for depth even if they are not household names.

Sims has been a shell of the kid he was since Clint Newton elbowed him in the temple and got about 12 weeks suspension. He has so much talent and size its just like Meyers getting knocked out in that test match and not being the same for a very long time afterwards.

I really hope Sims can reach his potential. He could potentially become a damn good prop. He had his moments at St George where people were saying "wow" and he has had his moments at the Broncos were people have also said, "wow" (And he's had his moments at the Broncos were people have also said, "Why the fark did you drop that ball...")

He's got potential, I really hope he can live up to it. He's big, tall, strong, he hits hard, he has decent speed for a big fella.......if only.

I thought he was really strong at St George when he was running out wide as a back rower. Not prop..
