2011 Four Nations - Australian squad named

Sadly I can't see us beating the kiwis with this rubbish Squad.. At least that will be the end of Sheens.

F**k that, sick of this 'I hope we lose so Sheens can get sacked bull-s**t', save it for some nuffy ANZAC test match. This is Lockyer's last ever series, I want to see him more than anything bow out a winner.

I hope Lockyer can go out a winner because he certainly deserves it. Can't see it happening though, picked a rubbish squad with no balance or cover for minor injuries in key positions.

I was kinda hoping he wouldn't play to be honest.

congrats to Parker a welll deserved selection for consistent strong form for the Broncos

Based on the squad i would have this as the Aussie team:

01. Slater.
02. Uate
03. Inglis (if fit) - if not Boyd to take the vacant center spot
04. Lawrence
05. Yow Yeh
06. Lockyer
07. Thurston
08. Gallen (the selectors have stated that they are considering Gallen as a prop)
09. Smith
10. Scott
11. Stewart
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Taylor
15. Lewis
16. Galloway
17. Watmough

The whole squad is thrown out of wack with the inclusion of Manly players who simply shouldn't be in the squad. Brett Stewart should be replaced with a centre and Tony Williams should be replaced with a prop. I'll give them the Chery-evans selection but only just.

I think DCE's selection is more directed at ensuring his allegiance to Australia, as he's also eligible for England, and they were circling him.
This is good for Qld too!

But carrying 3 halfbacks...?

Congrats to Alex Glenn and Gerard Beale on making the squad.

Only 1 five-eighth ;-)

In reality the problem is we have 3 right side halves - Lockyer, Cherry Evans and Cronk (? - he plays right side doesn't he?).

Luke can and should play 80 so id drop fien, leaving a bench spot to Matulino, who i think was the warriors best in the grand final.
Id put glenn on the bench for his versatility and throw smith into lock. Not sold on foran at centre either, but they dont have many options there unless they choose mannering or brown there.

Or Beale.

I just think they're going to try and fit Foran, Johnson, Locke, Luke and Marshall into the same team and Foran playing centres is about the only way to make that work.

Otherwise you'd play Foran and Marshall in the halves and leave Johnson out.

They'd certainly lose nothing but dropping Fien and having Matulino on the bench. Just shows how strong their squad is, you can make a number of cases for a strong squad and none of them is weak.
Interesting though that both Australia and NZ are light on for quality specialist centres.

They won't play Foran at centre will they?? Surely not.. Johnson might just have to wait till Benji gets injured.

id pick johnson over foran any day of the week
