Crumbling is what happened in the 2nd Semi Final against the Storm in 2008 .

Hope that brings back the memories.
Um what about the unspoken rule "we must never speak of that again".

FFS.

I was over the loss, 5 mins after the game. (so I can break the rule.)

At least we don't know the feeling of losing a grand final.

I think you guys may have strayed from the topic somewhat. [icon_wink

I'm really not sure how we'll go without Lockyer next year.

Obviously losing Lockyer will impact heavily on many aspects of our game, but we still do have some major weapons in players like Hodges, Thaiday, Yow Yeh and Hannant - all test quality.

Not to mention all of our young guns. In particular, guys like Josh Hoffman, Alex Glenn, Gerard Beale, Matt Gillett have really come of age over the past year and a half. Can probably add Macca to that list, although inconsistency is still his primary weakness.

So whilst I'm not getting my hopes up, I'm reasonably positive about the future. We've got the makings of a fantastic side, and although we might not immediately see success, I think it is bound to come.

Truth is we don't know how we will go without Lockyer but I prefer to look on the bright side and be positive. Our young blokes have been great this year and I would like to think they will only get better next year. I think we will make the 8 if we have a good run with injuries. Macca is close to stepping up and if Wallace is playing well we really should make the 8.

I'm glad we didn't get Inglis, instead we've re-signed almost everyone we want and get to keep the same side for a while.

Ahh you should be sweet for that one.

Didn't you send me Bronco Grand final DVD's last year or something? lol

I'm actually looking forward to the Broncos post Locky.

I'm happy with the young talent we have at the club, and i'm sure someone will step up and fill the massive hole left by Lockyers departure.

It happens everytime a superstar leaves out great club and i'm sure it'll happen again.

I'd agree with you entirely if the comp wasn't set up the way it currently is re the salary cap ... imo it's just become so difficult to plan a long term future around a talented young playing group because as soon as any of them show promise you've got a dozen "wolves" trying to beat down your door to sign them .... and the sad thing is the better these guys get the less chance their club has of keeping .. If you win a comp or get a number of them making rep teams it's virtually a case of saying bye bye to half of them within a season or two ..

The NRL - where success = punishment

We've just gotta hold onto them until the salary cap is raised.

Not long to go now

yeah that will be golden ... As enjoyable as it is to see how highly competitive the NRL is per se nowadays, there is a bit of a 'generic' look about most teams in the comp .. The days of the super teams were exciting for the point of fact that they set benchmarks that people still talk about today in terms of comparing great teams from different eras ..

I can still picture the names of the great Broncos, Canberra, Manly and Bulldogs teams from 80's & 90's ect but very few if any of the premiership winning sides from the past few years stand out in terms of the breathtaking style of football they played ect .. winning a comp nowadays is more about luck and injuries imo ..
