2014 Four Nations

As much as I hope Hodges will get another jersey, I suspect they'll put Hayne at right centre.

I guess if you go by trophies you could say that. Doesn't change the fact that NZ have only beaten us four times in those 9 years. They have played us like 24 times too. That's not the record of a competitive opponent.

It's also a team that realises the necessity of timing their run who is beginning to wrestle power away from the Australians.

To claim they're not real competition with the strides they're making may for a competitive international game but if Australia is concerned about winning - they'll be looking to blood a few more young players and deserving players.

Dale Copley, Justin Hodges, Matt Gillett, Brett Morris, Josh Dugan, Trent Merrin, Will Hopoate, Andrew Fifita, Michael Gordon, Billy Slater, Aidan Sezer & Dave Taylor have all been ruled out.

Gavin Cooper, Mat Scott, Johnathan Thurston, Michael Morgan, James Tamou, Daly Cherry-Evans, Brenton Lawrence, Anthony Watmough & Brett Stewart have been called in.

I wonder why Hodges was ruled out?

I wonder why Semi Radradra missed out and Michael Gordon got picked....bit of a joke tbh..

Now that Slater & Hodges are out, throw hayne at fullback and have Inglis/Jennings as the centres
front row is looking pretty thin too. I hope they don't pick that tool Woods

I think Inglis should play at fullback and Hayne at centre. Only because when Inglis plays at centre he disappears if the ball doesn't go his way. And Hayne always tends to play well at centre. They'll both get a go too. Just as long as Farah doesn't somehow get a spot.

Farah will cry his way onto the team. Inglis will only go missing at centre if they don't pass the ball out to him. Having Gallen out of the team, he wont be there to just hog the ball for hitups.

I wouldn't mind Farah being in the squad as a back-up hooker in case Smith's ankle injury flares up at some point. He's a pretty safe pick and can certainly do a job.

Apart of me wants to see Segs given a go just because he's the type of dummy half I enjoy watching.

I'm all footied out. I'll watch a bit of the semis now and of course the GF.

I didn't watch a single game of the WC last year. I can't see many of these games coming high on the radar.

Just my 2c.

The Australian selectors have some thinking to do this time there is some player missing

I would have Inglis at fullback and Hayne at right centre.

Hayne was great at centre in the WC. He was our second best player behind Thurston.

I think you're fairly spot on except for the below

5: Tupou

17: Farah

5. will go to a random winger from the finals but I don't see it being Tupou. Johnston is already being talked up. I think it will depend very much on which teams make the GF. I don't see them running with DCE and Farrah on the bench either, it's just pointless.

There is some injury concern over Smith's fitness and to have Farah on stand by would be valuable. I don't honestly know who will get the other wing spot but Tupou had a good Origin series and is a freakish talent and I wouldn't be against him getting a Kangaroo spot.
