2014 Four Nations

As much as I love him.. I think Gillett is lucky to be there after his post-Origin form, very lucky.

I doubt he'll make the final cut - he's just there since he played the ANZAC test. Would make sense to include as many incumbents as possible during this stage of testing.

The most pleasing aspect is to see the likes of McGuire, Hunt & Copley added. It's a nice pat on the back for all three men and should do them the world of good.

Was there also something midway through last year that accidentally listed Ben Barba as a Bronco before he had signed with us?

Pretty sure that was a Milford one earlier this year. Can't remember the specifics though.

I heard a week or so ago that Adam Docker is a possible selection for Australia

Would be disgraceful if it happens. Someone like Fensom is far better. But I doubt it even has the smallest chance of happening.

IMO, I can't see the Four Nations squad being any different than the squad that won the WC. Minus Gallen, of course.

I would like Sheens to bring in a couple of new players, though. To help plan for the future. Give them some regular game time over the next few years so they have some experience when our older players retire.

Hunt & McGuire come to mind.

They probably felt too intimidated by Fensom, didn't want to get knocked back so went with the 4/10 to build up their confidence.

If he gets selected, I doubt it'll be for anything more than that PMXIII game which is really just a mickey mouse contest to promote the game over in PNG. Parker, Merrin and Watmough will be there if fit.

I guess that'd be my full strength side.. don't really think Tamou deserves a bench spot, but can't think of any other prop who could fill the void.

Alex Johnston is being seriously considered as an option on the wing.

Dylan Walker may come into the centres.

You don't really need 3 forwards who play in the middle on your bench. Cordner over Tamou.

I seriously doubt Hunt is the half of the future in selectors minds.

Also we don't need to plan for the future. We are Australia. We will always have the best players and unlike Origin or NRL we have no real competition.

Yet NZ have been more successful than the Blues since 2005.

Go figure.

If Johnston is selected on the wing, that would surely mean Morris is out.

I don't think Walker would play at centre if he does make the squad, to be honest. We have centre options as it is.

Hayne, Inglis, Hodges, Jennings.

The only way he would get a spot is if any of them are injured.

Isn't Watmough an edge runner? Dunno, I don't really pay attention to Manly / NSW structure.

I guess if you go by trophies you could say that. Doesn't change the fact that NZ have only beaten us four times in those 9 years. They have played us like 24 times too. That's not the record of a competitive opponent.
