2017 Line-up

Isn't it funny how media reports effect how we as fans think. For whatever reason they were reporting that benji was going to take the left centre position then suddenly the reports went quiet and so did all of the fans predictions of him playing centre. Just shows how little we really know about what's happening inside the squad.

I'd love to go back and look at how many people predicted benji at left centre when he was first signed.

I think it was more that no one wanted him in the halves and as far as possible positions he could play vs positions we have vacant centre kind of made sense. And I actually think he could have made a good centre anyway.

Why would Glenn and Thaiday be on the bench? One of them would be starting. I think if we have a 3 forward bench + Benji/Niko it will be Glenn starting. But if we have a 4 forward bench, I think Thaiday will start, purely because Glenn offers more utility off the bench.

But then again, perhaps glenn would start, come off after 30 minutes, then come back on at the 60th minute for macca to give him a 10 minute rest before the final 10.

Why would Wayne be changing things? Does that strike you as something he does unnecessarily?

I think the only changes we will see to the side from last year (assuming no injuries) are:

McGuire to lock to replace Parker.

Sims to the front row to fill the void from McGuire.

Kahu to left centre to replace Reed.

Mead to right wing to fill the void from Kahu.

Offa to the bench to replace Jarryd Wallace.

The rest of the starting team and bench will remain as it was in 2016, I strongly suspect...

I would prefer Ese'ese to bench over Joe O. Herman just wants it more IMO from what I have seen.

I think the same, maybe we could swap him for taylor. Titans would get a good fullback when hayne leaves

They would unlikely accept any such offer from us.

They Know that Hayne won't be a long term player for them. And they have stated that they believe that they can build a team around Taylor (and Elgey)

I'm expecting that the Titans will not only refuse to release Taylor but will also be making him a significant offer to stay with the club long term.

And that's a big reason why I don't think we should put all our eggs in the Taylor basket.

Say, for example, we decide we will be going after Taylor. We put an offer on the table for him to return in 2019, but he understandably holds off to set how big the Titans offer is. The Titans put a huge offer to Taylor and he accepts.

In the meantime we have missed the couple of quality halves off contract for next season.

If we don't come to an agreement with someone of quality for next year then by all means we should chase Taylor

I think he's closer to a less good version of Anthony Milford in terms of play style, which is even more of a reason not to play him at Halfback.

you're probably right.

but one thing is for sure, he doesn't compliment Milford, which is the type of half we need to replace Hunt

Or Kodi could play 6 for them even.. interesting indeed. I guess we'd need to play nikorima a LOT at the back end of the year to inflate his worth. If he plays QCup all year, no one would want to sign him or release a player to do so

I really don't think they can put a huge offer to him . They will have a situation like we did with Hunt and milf, i believe Elgey will get a big payrise before Taylor.

we are going to be less likely to put a big offer to Taylor than the Titans will ... we will have Milford on around $1 million, no way Elgey gets near that
