Brisbane’s roster is quite settled with the notable exception of Jack Bird, who endured a truly awful season in his first year as a Bronco. It remains to be seen exactly what role he will play for Anthony Seibold’s Broncos — he was recruited to be more than the centre he was at Cronulla and yet centre is the only vacant spot in the Brisbane backline. Likewise, a cadre of exciting young forwards mean a move to the pack is seemingly outside the realms of possibility. Brisbane’s trials will be our first look at the new Jack Bird and precisely how Seibold plans to use him.

The article says he’s 30.
The photo suggests it’s been a tough 30 years.
Also, they’ve somehow managed to go forward in time and post it at 9:47am today...
Maybe that’s why he looks older.

Interesting signing. It is nice to have him and tagatese for the experience though. Not sure he will get much game time.

Odd but understandable signing. Brings experience which the squad is lacking and is a serviceable, cheap back up. I guess there is no second hooker in the squad this year.

Reading through the comments on Facebook etc and so many people saying good origin cover etc. Is it just me, or will we only lose 1, maybe 2 forwards max to origin this year (not including macca). I mean Gillett isn't a certainty for origin. Will need to wait and see how he is after the injury to decide there. But if he is, then perhaps lose Gillett, and then a big maybe on TPJ / Offa?

You can tell that the Broncos just arent what they once were. I'd say most likely outcome is Gillett, Macca and Roberts make origin.

Fensom was a beast of a lock in his earlier years. Constantly injured though, which has taken it's toll. He should be in his prime but could hardly get a run with the Cowboys, though in reality, his only position is lock and he was never getting a run whenever Taumalolo was fit. Interesting to see if he gets any game time.

When I saw the photo I thought we'd signed a new groundsman or something, old mate looks rough as guts.

With that being said I don't mind the signing, have always liked those tough experienced middle forwards who can make a million tackles.

If (Big if) Fensom finds career best form under AS, that's a killer squad.
