2019 Broncos Line-up

I'd like to see our rotation like this

Starters

8. Lodge
9. McCullough
10. McGuire
11. Su'a
12. Gillett
13. Pangai Junior

20 mins - interchange Lodge, McGuire, McCullough, Gillett

8. Haas
9. Nikorima
10. Ofahengaue
11. Su'a
12. Fifita
13. Pangai Junior

50 mins - interchange Pangai Junior for McGuire. McCullough for Nikorima

60 mins - interchange Fifita, Ofahengaue for Lodge and Gillett

8. Haas
9. McCullough
10. Lodge
11. Su'a
12. Gillett
13. McGuire

Pretty simple. I'd like to try something like it. Would have a mean power game.
Haas needs a lot more time in the NRL before he’s playing 60mins straight to close out a game, so probably swap his role with Offa as he’s more than capable now.

It also means, or at least it appears this way, that we don’t have anyone playing halfback while Nikorima is at dummy half. Or is this on the basis that Nikorima is a utility and we have found another halfback (that’s not supposed to be sarcastic either)?

Otherwise, not a bad forward rotation. Could definitely be powerful, as you say.

Yep, Agreed about the Haas minutes.. I wouldn't mind if Ofahengaue had that role.

I'm assuming Nikorima will be on the bench and we'll have O'Sullivan at 7.

If Nikorima is halfback then we could try using Staggs as the bench utility that can play hooker. He is Tyrone Peachey's cousin afterall, should be able to play most positions

You can't burn your last interchange with twenty minutes to go. Also Haas is playing 60 minutes.

Knik done good.
Now if only he knew how to replicate his test form in the NRL ...

He frequently plays well in tests ... He frequently goes missing in the NRL ... and that is a problem and not what we need from our halfback.

Well he’s basically only got *next year left to produce, or it’s back to the bench. At least he’s coming in with some confidence.

Despite a good kicking display in the last test, Niko needs to pick up where Milford’s running game left off, while Milf continues his kicking and learning to control games. Might as well swap numbers.

Different coach, different instructions. He has previously stated Madge brings out the best in him. Yes his defence is a bit sus but all in all he was man of the match for a reason. I’m happy to let him have another crack at half.

I haven't watched the third game, but in the first two SJ was trying to do everything and was a bit reminiscent of Mr. Hunt (not quite at that level, he was still performing well).

Not sure where this post should go. Just wanted to wish Meg Ward all the best and show her support after her neck surgery yesterday. Apparently it was the same deal as Tallis and Matt Rodgers so she is hopeful she'll be back on the field for the Broncs in 2019.

Wasn’t that test also a dead rubber?

How many cracks do we give him ... he has now been our half back for 18 months and next year he will still have Wayne Bennett as coach (not Madge)

FTR, I actually like Nikorima. his work ethic, his loyal, his personality etc all make him extremely likable ... but that doesn't mean he should get first shot at halfback ... he is far too inconsistent to be our halfback in 2019. IMO, he needs to go back to the bench working in tandem with Macca.

Macca is at his best when he has to play no more than 50-60 minutes and Nikorima is at his best when he comes on to provide some spark out of dummy half against tired defenders.

Modern rugby league is a 17 man game ... not 13 man game. there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a specialist substitute, hell having a specialist sub like Niko can actually benefit the team

Niko had a blinder he also done that at different times with us during the year too. He isn’t a controlling half and he doesn’t have a great kicking game. Should he be in the side 100% but should he be our halfback no not really.

For the money he's on I'd say he's performing well above his salary, it's just that halfback is obviously a really important position. I don't think he's quite as shit as a lot other fans claim he is; I'd take our current halves combo over pretty much any other in the comp except for the rorters and maybe Penrith (although they're overrated).

KNik had a great second test too, he and SJ may well have set the blueprint for how KNik and Milf can work.

Slipped disc in her neck or something of that nature. Poor girl’s been in the wars this season. Hope she comes back 100%, she’s a gun. One advantage of playing a super-short comp (outside of local league)
