2020 Origin Discussion

Wayne officially announced by the QRL.

Would just like some journo to ask that fuckwit white “do you think Wayne is good enough to coach qld?” Naturally the prick won’t give a straight answer but whatever he says the journo should then say “well if he’s considered good enough to coach qld why wasn’t he good enough to coach the broncos last year especially as he still had a contract.?”
Every chance like this that comes up I hope someone rubs the ***** face in it.

a) White just pulled the trigger on the boards decision
b) do you think someone like Michael Hagan or Mal Meninga are good enough to coach the Broncos, because both of them have coached QLD.

White sure did pull the trigger and he was in up to his neck in the whole thing as well.
I am also happy to rub everyone else’s face in it who had a part in that atrocity.
Hagan and meninga would have both done a far better job coaching the broncos than siefraud.

Hunt is barely good enough to play in the Halves at NRL level, let alone Origin. No way.

I'd even take Mann at 5/8 over Hunt if I had the choice. That said, I'd play Mann at Centre and leave Munster and DCE in the Halves.

I quite like that, though there's question marks over 4 and 6, but who knows who to replace them with

What about trying Corey Norman in the centres? Dunno how he's going this year, I was just going through players who might be able to play there, and I'd rather keep Munster in the halves.

I'd rather Hymel Hunt or Enari Tuala than Norman in the centres.

1. Ponga
2. Muiltalo
3. Allan
4. Capewell
5. Gagai
6. Munster/ Norman
7. Cherry Evans
8. Papalii
9. Grant
10. Arrow
11. Faasuamaleui
12. Sua
13. McGuire

14. Brimson
15. Collins
16. Dunamis Lui
17. Welch

Ponga Picks him self at FB

Muiltalo and Allan might be strange picks for some but with Holmes out for Game 1, I think Muiltalo has been really good for an average sharks team and he has probably been better then Homes this year as well. Allan has been very good for Souths in the back half of the season and could fill a role at centre, would put him on the wing put I think Gagai is far to good on the wing at Origin.

Halves should be Muster and DCE but will have to see about Munsters injury, if not available for Game I for me Norman plays, he played a solid game in Game III last year.

Harry Grant for me gets it, I think last year was Jake Friends time, QLD should pick for the future now and build up Grants experience in big Games.

Arrow and McGuire, Can play them both at 10 or 13 doesn't really matter. McGuire has been one of NQL best this season and is experienced, basically same with arrow.

Sua and Tino, With Fifita being out Sua is basically a replica of him and frankly he runs harder and hit harder then David. With Tino over Kaufusi QLD need spark and a X factor, Kaufusi has been good without being great but I think QLD have a stronger chance with big Tino.

Brimson would be a great Utility, lots saying he could play wing/centre with NSW having a lot of tall outside backs i think that will be a shit show.

Collins, Lui, These two guys have had good season and have come out firing in the finals. If anyone saw the Rooster came Collins Clawed back momentum with some massive runs late in the second half for me that cemented his spot. Lui has looked really good for 2 season now and think he should get a crack.

Welch is reliable and had played Origin before.

Let me know what you guys think.

I think you're missing Fotuaika, who I'd pick pretty much ahead of every other middle forward except Papalli.

Yer had a feeling i missed someone, who would you drop out for him?

Out of those, probably Lui. He's been solid for the Raiders, but definitely the weakest link in that QLD pack, especially with no prior experience. I guess Collins and Fotuaika don't have any previous experience either, but they've got more upside IMO.

Klemmer & Graham axed. Lomax added to squad.

I predicted the Graham axing, but certainly not the Klemmer one. Freddy is ruthless.

Klemmer hasn't even been bad. He doesn't miss many tackles either. I can't imagine his replacement being better.
